Not really fair to say. Filppula, Raffl, Laughton and Lindblom all look pretty decent for not being technical top six guys. Add Weal to that list sometimes too.

Speaking of top six, Wayne Simmonds should be returning this weekend. That gives us some depth, for sure.

With Simmonds I think we round out a decent top 9. Filpulla, Laughton, and Weal are 4th liners ideally IMO. Lindblom, Raffl, and Simmonds* are pretty solid 3rd liners. I would definitely say their weakness in depth on defense more so than offense.

*Obviously Simmonds is a top unit PP guy without question, but I do think at 5 on 5 he's more of a 3rd line type guy.

Unless we win the cup we could have 20 guys with 10 goals it doesn't really matter to me.

Part of winning the Cup is having balanced scoring. If Konecny and Patrick can continue to score at the rate they have recently (or better), we will begin to have a lot of that, especially with the return of Simmonds coming soon.

Pens were very fortunate to win in OT tonight. Now we have to beat them in our building on Wednesday night for some much needed revenge from earlier this season. Otherwise, this could turn into another serious losing streak.

I don't think it's insane to start a goalie 3 times in 4 nights either. In addition to Mrazek and Elliott, I see that Hellebuyck, Vasilevskiy, Dubnyk, Bishop, Lundqvist, Smith, Murray, Talbot, Jones and Howard have all done it this season. Probably more too, but I'm not going to check them all...Lol
I think Quick did as well, but was injured during a stretch.

Admittedly that's more than I thought. I still don't like it, but my argument is losing strength for sure.

Im sure if any of those goalies gave up 6 goals and then lost in a shootout with 2 out of 3 shots scored on them they wouldn't have started the 4th game.

Litmus test. Hopefully we dig deep and come up with a few big wins this week.

Looks like Simmer is back tomorrow. Lines at practice today:

Giroux-Couturier-Konecny
Lindblom-Patrick-Voracek
Weal-Filppula-Simmonds
Lehtera-Laughton-Raffl

I'd swap Lehtera for Read or Leier but that's close!

I would move Lindblom down to LW and Weal to the RW of the third line move Jake over to LW of the second line and Simmer to right wing of the second line.

Hey guys. I know @lasgop8 likes posting various articles on here so forgive me if this has been posted on the previous page. I think it is class act by our own.
Flyer invites Stoneman Douglas team to game

On another note not in regard to the Flyers, but I feel it still hit the hearts of many in the hockey world. My heart goes out to the Carolina Hurricanes Jordan Staal who lost his infant daughter a couple of days ago. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Staals and the Carolina organization. I just can't imagine the pain and how hockey can possibly be important here after losing such a wonderful gift.
