Face palming that Sherman barely got to the ball when he pretty obviously barely got to the ball.
Try watching the video. Sherman was glued to Crabtree the entire play. There was little chance that Kaep would have ever made that play

Wow ...such class from the Seattle fans.

Your going to the SB and what do you do? ...trash the team that gave you the game of your life and will continue to be a major threat to your success for years to come.

Good Lord.
I really wish you people would stop blaming all Seattle fans for whatever a couple of them say. Not all of us are obsessing over SF, nor are we all defending Sherman, and not all of us believe our team is going to blow out Denver. We aren't "THE Seattle fans". It isn't any more right to lump us all together than it is to call all SF fans or philly fans punks and thugs.

There's really no point. The ball could have bounced off of Crabtree's helmet and you would still say Sherman wasn't close to missing it.

What?? And I'm unreasonable?

If he missed it and it bounced of Crabtree's helmet I wouldn't say he didn't miss it. What a weird thing to say.

Look at the picture and watch a real replay. They have in slo-mo and all that on NFL.com. If you still think he barely got to it then I dunno. We must be talking about different plays.

Its in his palm, not off the tip of his finger. It was a bad choice to throw that ball at sherman. But crabs was the read, whatcha gonna do?

Nope, I'm looking at how much Sherman needs to contort his body just to get one hand on the ball. That is not an easy play. Sorry but it's not.

Yeah, sherman is a hell of an athlete. Maybe that has something to do with why didnt throw at him all day.

Kaeperfail and Wilson are both exactly the same type of QB. They both are running QBs, not pocket passers. Not sure why the original poster thinks different. Both of them will end up injured and out of the league within a few years probably.

The two are actually quite different.

IMO of the two, Kaepernick is the most physically gifted but Wilson has a better head on his shoulders to make up for it. If you gave Kaepernick Wilson's brain, work ethic and football IQ you'd have a top 5 QB IMO.

Plus, Wilson is the type of QB who moves around in the pocket to buy time to throw the ball, Kaep leaves the pocket to try to run. The two have similar rushing statistics, but Wilson relies a lot less on his legs than Kaepernick does.

I disagree. The 49ers are the absolute perfect team for his style of play and the fact that they've been to 2 straight NFC title games with him as the QB shows it. He obviously has some issues with taking off when his first option isn't there, but when your offensive line can give you time and you have 3 physical receivers that can get separation you end up with a really dangerous player. Guy is a threat to break a big one every single play. Seattle just presents too many match up problems and the home field advantage didn't hurt either. If SF can snag the #1 seed next year I wouldn't be surprised to see them back in the Super Bowl.

Fair enough, I believe that the 49ers have a Superbowl caliber roster outside of QB and Kaep is what is keeping them from winning one. Not saying he is a bad player, just not the QB that I could see leading the 49ers to a Superbowl.

Yes, Sherman just barely managed to get one hand on the ball. That throw could have just as easily ended in a touchdown and 9 times out of 10 isn't going to deflect right into the arms of a Seattle defender.

Get your eyes checked dude. This is blanket coverage.

The only time Sherman was not within a millimeter of Crabtree was when Sherman jumped in the air to swat the pass.

Lol, duh? Doesn't change the fact that a few inches separated a touchdown from an interception. He could have picked a better guy to go to but the throw itself wasn't awful. Generally that is going to be incomplete at worse. Kaepernick came REALLY close to beating your team in Seattle on Sunday and he almost won a Super Bowl last year. It's a little ridiculous to write him off for barely losing an NFC Championship game.

Few inches of what? If Kaepernick puts that ball in a different location 9 times out of 10 it is still incomplete. Crabtree was covered well. The fact that you don't recognize that Sherman had blanket coverage on Crabtree shows me you have never played a down of football in your life. Having played QB in HS I'd never, ever make that throw.

Barely losing an NFC Championship game? He had 2 interceptions (one to end the game), 2 fumbles (only lost one due to a lucky bounce)

If Kaepernick does not have those 3 turnovers, the 49ers win the game. That is why I'm saying he is holding them back.

It isn't the first time he has done that exact same thing on a fade route in the end zone. Wasn't that long ago that he tipped one to Earl Thomas.

He intentionally plays just enough off that it tempts the QB to hit it and the devil is in his break. He starts it before the ball is thrown or right as it is. He has said many times in interviews that he studies the tenancies of both the WR's in those routes and the QB's timing on those throws and does everything he can to make a QB think he isn't going to be able to cover it... and then does. It's part of his game. He isn't just raw talent. He studies the game and his competition about as well as anyone else in football. No one studies harder.

See the thing is though, Sherman had textbook coverage on Crabtree on that play. I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying but Crabtree was covered perfectly and the only time that Sherman was not glued to Crabtree was when he leapt up in the air to make that play.

Give this a watch. He does it almost every game. He is a hell of a talent. That tip is a routine play for him.

You cant stare receivers down on the short field. It bit them in the ass in SB last year, and it bit them in the ass every time he's played Seattle (4 rz picks against them in 4 games). You act that was some kind of lucky play for seattle against Kap, that was pretty much par for the course

Yes he was, but for them to say it was a lucky play by him shows they haven't watched much of his game this year. He is either blanketing someone or trying to make the QB's think he isn't going to be able to cover and then does. You know that, I know that, hell most opposing teams probably know that with their game film. And yet game after game they try him. He didn't lead the league in INT's while also having very few pass attempts against him all season by accident. He is freaking money in the bank.

Watch that video I linked, in fact here it is for real

For some reason link embedding isn't working for me anymore. Have to go back to using youtube tags I guess?

In the video it shows how blanketed crabtree was. Sherman was on him like a cheap suit.

As a bonus it also has him mic'ed up and you can hear him say 'hell of a game, hell of a game' while extending his hand to him. Crabtree says nothing but puts his hand to his face. Shortly after he speaks to Erin Andrews. So this does help some of you put his words into perspective now? Crabs obviously pissed him off with that reaction and he let the world know about it.

WOW. That "Hell of a game, hell of a game" with the extended hand looked pretty legit actually. The face shove was crap and poor sportsmanship by Crabtree. He is a sorry receiver.
