Series Thread: 4) Atlanta Hawks (48-34) vs 5) Boston Celtics (48-34)

Considering Wiggy said Boston would be rolling, it's not hard to see why Atlanta is owning this series.

I predicted Celtics in 7, but that Avery Bradley injury pretty much eliminates that. Atlanta is playing great ball right now.

Well, it wasn't always pretty, but we have a 2-0 series. Hopefully, Schroeder is okay.

Celtics are dangerous but this matchup always favored the Hawks...I thought ATL in 6 initially...the whole team has yet to click at the same time, Korver way off in gm 1 and Milsap way off in gm 2. If BOS can't get back 100% healthy, this one is going 5.

I agree...

The Celtics are an up and coming team with a great young coach, a ton of good young players and even more assets and picks---- but they are still a young team and their best player is Isiah Thomas.

Horford, Teague, Milsap i think are all arguably better than Thomas....Korver is pretty darn good too. The Hawks have more talent, experience and have a pretty good coach of their own, however, the Hawks sometimes lack toughness.

I picked the Hawks in 7 because i think the Celtics are the mentally tougher team- but the talent disparity lead me to picking the Hawks. I think the Hawks were mad about how things ended last year- and are more prepared for this post season and have less pressure. They probably are the 2nd best team in the East in my estimation- TALENT WISE anyway.

The Celtics back court is equal to or better even when Teague wants to coast, but they don't have the size to matchup with Horford, Milsap and Scott.

IMO Teague is the key to getting one of these games in BOS...when he's aggressive attacking the rim, the Hawks will get open looks...Hardaway might get more mins...BOS will be better early at home so I look for these games to be nip and tuck the whole way.

I agree. We're playing poorly and Celtics are shooting an abnormally high percentage behind the arc for themselves, but are only down twelve. I think we start making strong runs soon.
