I mean, that's all we can assume, right? I mean, the ESPN article I cited says the NBA agrees that he violated protocol.Probably.
But I don’t know.
Seems that you are assuming he isn’t.

It also said that attendees were required to show that they were vaccinated or had a recent negative test result. Doesn't say which Lebron used though.
Sounds like it was outside the NBA protocols, but he got a warning because it was brief and they had the vaccination/negative test provision.
But the NBA hasn't exactly been great with putting it into context. Especially since it turns out CP3 actually has Covid. The league hasn't said (that I've seen or heard) whether he actually broke protocols or not.
Personally, I have a hard time seeing CP3 break protocol just before the WCF.
And that's a fair assessment. I just think it's total bullshit that CP3 is going to be held out. And I'm by no means, a CP3 fan (I don't hate the guy either).
I missed this. Is it confirmed that he has Covid? The difference being, he actually has Covid. I don't know if he'd be out if he didn't.
yeah, i won't be starting any #17return petitions anytime in the near future...To be fair, that's kind of how it works. You tolerate that stuff when he's on your team winning titles. Has there ever been a player on one of your teams that you didn't like, but tolerated them because they were a great player? Great players get a bit of a "pass" when they're on your team and winning games.
I've been plenty critical of Lebron, but he's wearing a Lakers uni, so I'm rooting for him.
I don't think anyone has been more vocal about his dislike for Lebron than @ChiefsLakers67 but since he became a Laker, CL doesn't say a whole lot about him one way or the other and I'm pretty sure he won't be petitioning the Lakers to return that title. lol

Damn. That's an entirely different story. This isn't about "protocols". You can't let dude play until he has a couple of negative tests at the minimum but he may have to wait out a full 14 days. And what could he miss? A potential matchup with Captain Covid himself, Rudy Gobert. Crazy how life has a way of coming full circle.

I guess for me, I go back to the whole vaccination status. You're in two categories where:
1) You're vaccinated and the effects of Covid (along with subsequent variants, based on boosters) are significantly decreased.
2) You're not vaccinated, and you're at risk for Covid (statistically, I don't see many NBA players fitting into a lethal category as Covid tends to put people that have some underlying condition like obesity, heart disease, etc. at a higher risk).
So, with CP3, wouldn't it be if you're in category #1 that you'll be fine? And #2, wouldn't you be able to sign a waiver of liability (may need Wiggy to come in here as I'm no legal expert; fully aware he does real estate law)?
"has there ever been a player on one of your teams that you didn't like, but tolerated"
I'll start with basketball. Kyrie in Boston. Didn't root for him while he was there & was happy when he left. It was even difficult for me to tolerate that dumbass flat Earther.
NFL. Gotta go with Kareem Hunt. Not a fan of his due to his actions in that Cleveland hotel a few years ago.
Baseball. This is going back but wasn't happy when the Indians got Robbie Alomar. Just classless how he spit on that ump. But him and Omar Vizquel were a helluva defensive combo.
But I never turned on a former player of team I root for in the fashion that Heat fans turned on LeBron. I still think it's funny that the majority of their fanbase were very happy when LeBron arrived. But many got pissed when he had the nerve to leave. And some Cavs fans got stupidly upset when he left the first time too.
There's been a large contingent of people that aren't aware they even have Covid. Shit, I'll tell you since last summer, Florida for the most part hasn't given two shits about Covid. He will be fine.
However, the vaccine is not mandatory in the NBA. Other players and staffers he would come in contact with might not be fine.
Can’t play through Covid man.
Vaccinated or not, got to lay low and stay isolated if you test positive. To do otherwise is civically irresponsible.
Lebron hadn't did the shit he's done in the last couple of years in terms of the way he's causing a further divide by misusing the platform that he has. See, you're citing players that had baggage previously before they got to your team. Lebron's biggest mistakes before coming to the Heat were Decision Part 1.

If this thing is as infectious as has been widely reported, just about every single person in this country has had it already and has some type of natural immunity. People die annually from the flu as well, we don't shut down the world because of the flu.
I know my response comes as insensitive, but at some point, we have to go on about our lives.
See, he has gone over the line a couple times. Especially the “your next” quote. That was awful.
But that doesn’t mean he is misusing his platform.
You just feel that way because you probably don’t agree with his politics.
Covid's a respiratory viral infection. At this stage, you'll need annual boosters (similar to flu shots), if you've taken the vaccine. And that is happening.
Covid ain’t the flu man. Crazy that people out there still think that.

I haven't liked Lebron, on the court since he left the Heat in '14.
