Olney on JT:

"He's a truth teller. I think he was dead on in what he said. He mentioned that he doesn't think it's on Jerry Dipoto, the head of baseball ops."

Yep. Dipoto brings the negativity on himself for sure. But he's not the reason the org is dogshit or that it isn't trying to build a contender around a generational pitching staff. This org isn't going to get better when Dipoto is inevitably fired. How many more GM's/Manager/Hitting Coaches over how many more decades have to be fired for people to understand that.

I thought a little more about Dipto's interview with The Atlantic.

The way he phrased things and the publication he chose to convey his thoughts through tells me that it wasn't about the Mariners org or its fans. It was about him making a case to East Coast teams about why he should get hired by one of them when he's fired here.
