Geno CONSTANTLY misses WIDE OPEN WR's! go watch the all 22 its just nasty. Geno CONSTANTLY forces the ball into Double and tripple coverage. Geno doesnt read defenses well... no let me change that, Geno doesnt read defenses AT ALL. Geno has a great arm, Geno has a strong arm. Thats all Geno has.

OK. I'm not really going to argue the counter-factual hypotheticals. If you want to believe that Geno can't win 2 playoff games no matter the team, that's your choice.
You brought up the hypothetical
Not sure. Is the OL going to be better? Improve the interior of the OL, and I think overall the execution on offense will improve because fewer plays will get blown up. Less dudes in Geno's face. Most of the time, blocking breakdowns is what leads to negative plays.
I see no reason to hope schneider fixes the OL unless ownership mandates it.
But I wouldn't mind being aggressive and going after Cam Ward. The problem is free agency being 3 months before the draft.
Pass on ward, better Qbs in next years draft
Yah I get it MrS.... just sayin, there's a lot more wrong with the team at the moment. A 1st round QB is not going to fix things.
ID rather go with Howell and fail fast than another mediocre season with geno
Not this year, but heck MrS been lobbying for a DT again.
No Qbs worth taking this year.
Maybe trade for mccarthy if he is available but thats a tad far fetched. Id rather watch the team collapse next year, clear the deck and start over with a big time hire and the top QB

Who would this big time hire be? This seems like out and out fantasty thinking. I like the Mcdonald hire and would much rather see if they can make progress next season then starting over which likely ends badly.

We have some trade bait at the OLB/DE imo….We can trade D Hall, D Jones or Mafe for a OL. we may be able to land a pretty solid player for one of those guys.

I have nothing against MacDonald but i want schneider out on his ass and whoever replaces him will likely want their own coach.
Take the #2 FO guy from the chiefs or eagles or ravens or someone in jim harbaughs orbit.

What's weird to me is that the Hawks have been drafting pretty well the past few years. Yet you want to blow it up and hope someone else will do better because our interior OL is still a problem

There are plenty of reasons to want schneider gone, OL is just one of them.
Fact is this team hasn't won a playoff game in 5 years.
Blink and it could turn into 10 years.

Defense hasnt been good for 5 years except for 2021 ( 12 in PPG ). I trust Macdonald can turn that around. Believe it or not the Hawks are now sitting at 10th in PPG allowed. Thats pretty damn good. The difference is Wilson was able to carry a bad defense shown by the fact he WON a playoff game with a BAD defense. Its been a long time since this team missed the playoffs in Back to back seasons. ( 2008-2009 )

2024 10th ( No Playoffs )
2023 25th ( No playoffs )
2022 25th ( Lost WC Round )
2021 12th ( No Playoffs )
2020 15th ( Lost WC Round )
2019 22nd ( Lost DIV Round )

Great because they claim nearly all the picks weren't Geno's fault?

did they? LMAO classic, i didnt even look at it. I could go through EVERY QB's INT's and discount half of them or blame it on something else. Most tend to avoid taking risks which is the BEST move. That doesnt mean dont throw the ball that means throw it away when you need to and live another day, Find the RIGHT player with your presnap read to understand WHO is in the best position to "win" Thats not Always DK Or JSN. I find it funny how he was constantly going to DK and when JSN started producing he pretty much IGNORED DK. Geno decides where he is throwing the ball even before the ball is snapped and no matter what the read tells him is the best option. He threw into double and tripple coverage this year more than EVER! He flat out ignored Lockett this year WAY to much.

No. The person's opinion on whose fault each pick was is largely irrelevant.

What it shows pretty clearly, however, is that Geno's picks are largely a reflection of the pressure he is facing. In particular the interior pressure he has faced throughout the season. When QBs face interior pressure they are far more likely to make mistakes. They throw off their backfoot. They short arm throws. Or they just eat it because they don't feel comfortable throwing the ball at all.

The reason why I may appear to be a Geno defender is NOT because I'm some huge fan of Geno. Geno is who he is. I defend him because unless the Hawks can get one of the magicians in the pocket like Mahomes or Burrow or Allen, it doesn't really much matter who our QBs. Sure fans want to see some young buck behind center and feel more hope. And they would certainly be more supportive of JJ McCarthy or Jalen Milroe or whomever we could get. But it won't really matter if the line doesn't improve.

Did Sam Darnold magically go from league average backup QB to all pro overnight? Or has he improved dramatically because he is behind one of the best offensive lines in the league?

If the Seahawks move on from Geno, I won't shed a single tear over it. I'll root for whomever they replace him with. But unless they fix the interior line, the outcome is unlikely to change in any meaningful way.

Exactly. Our defense was the number 1 priority that needed to be fixed. Macdonald AND Schneider did a really good job adjust mid season to turn the defense into a good defense. Hopefully it can become a great defense next year.

But we MUST fix the interior offensive line.

Seattle has to address not only the OL but the offensive coordinator as well. That no huddle call play at the line crap was ridiculous and Grubb can't call a run to save his life. Lockett will in all likelihood retire, and DK IMO should walk/be traded which means we need another WR in this draft (fortunately it's about the only good thing IN this draft). Just draft the best tackle on the board. If Abe is somehow good to go next season, great, move the OT into guard and pray. Otherwise, you have a replacement for Lucas.

Should be: RT, WR, BPA for the first 3 rounds. If we trade DK for a 2nd, use that to take another OT/G.

This is why I'm not willing to just blame Geno for the offenses woes. It's not just the pass blocking, the OL has been trash in both the pass and run game. Last in yards before contact is completely unsurprising.

The OL is playing like a 4 or 5 win team level team. The skill players and defense have carried the team.

LG before RT. We had a ton of bad luck at RT this year. Between Abe and Fant we have a decent RT group. Tomlinson was just not good this year and LG is such an important position.

I agree with that. Need to find a LG that can stick with the team for a few years, no more one year patch with a cheap but sub par player especially one that's in his twilight years. Course easy to say but much harder to carry out.

Yeah. It should be their No. 1 priority, beyond signing whatever guys they plan on keeping.

What do we all realistically expect schneider to do with the OL?
I dont think he signs a big name FA, i doubt they spend a 1st on a G, MAYBE a second rounder. But thats a big maybe.
i expect essentially the same OL as this year with a LB and WR taken in the first two rounds.

I expect him to address the glaringly obvious problem which is the offensive line. The defense is stabilized.

If we do trade Metcalf then I do expect them to use one of their 1st 2 picks on a WR or maybe whatever pick they get for Metcalf.
