Hopefully someone else hires kubiak in the mean time
With Kubiak you would see more of the QB under center, play action and QB roll outs. It could work out well despite the zone blocking. With Fraley you would still have to hire someone like Grant Ubinski to handle the passing plays. Might as well make Ubinski the OC but that would be dang ballsy.

One of the features he would bring to the offense is making it tough for the defense to tell if we're going to run or pass... He focuses a lot at mastering the 4-5 step QB drop w/out giving it away whether it's a run or pass... I love that aspect of his offense... We absolutely haven't had anything like that the past few years...

Fraley would signal they are serious about fixing the OL, but id rather go with a veteran play caller like pederson or mccarthy.
Kubiak feels very uninspired and based on name relevancy. He has had one year as OC and the jury is out on how well he did or didnt do.

God how i want to see our QB's back under center again, So tired of this full time shotgun. Sure it helps the QB but it hurts the running game and limits the chance it can be effective.

90% in shotgun for 2024. But the sad news is that Geno's stats taked a "*very significant nose dive when he plays under center*" .. oh boy. *Not my words*. It made me worry enough that i am now trying to find his under center and shot gun snaps stats.

You say Kubiak feels uninspired but so do Pederson and McCarthy. Word is Peterson has checked out and doesn't put out the effort and McCarty is just living off the single Superbowl Rodgers got him to. Neither have shown any flashes of inspiration for years. Doubt anyone would feel giddy about Kubiak being the hire, but he has the resume for the job, young and still energetic, likely fits Mcdonald vision on the type of offense he's looking for. Thus far he looks like the best fit for the Seahawks of the 4 that have been interviewed. I guess it's a matter of personal preference on which candidate you prefer, but realistically you should try to pick one that the Seahawks have interest in.

Havent exactly had a great track record hiring OCs the past 15 years, its fair to seconds guess what schneider is doing.

Schneider isn't choosing him thought, Macdonald is. Macdonald fired the last OC and now is making his own choice. Seems like a man that knows what he wants from the OC and I'm going to trust it's a wise choice until it shown to be otherwise. Naturally I hope it's someone that I view as a good choice as well, but even if it someone I'm not thrilled with, I'm going try to hold criticism to see how it works out. We all want the Seahawks to succeed and Mac gives me hope they can do that. If we lose faith why even bother with following the team. I sort of feel that Schneider needs a strong HC to guide him to make the right decisions.

Be a surprising move to hire the wunderkind who's only 28 and no play calling experience although he's involved with it some what.

Do we know that for certain?
Appears to be the case, it's the norm for HC to pick his own coordinators and the Seahawks have projected that Macdonald is doing the choosing. I'm sure JS is weighing in but I'm confident that this is Macdonald choice to make.

I dont like the idea of hiring someone with training wheels.

It's a high risk high reward move that would make us all nervous, but it would be an exciting hire vs hiring some retread who is safer but doesn't have the ceiling. If I was choosing I'd likely go the safer route but it is intriguing.

Who was the last OC you liked?
So many good ones to choose from

I dont know, bringing in an OC with superbowl experience and a long track record makes the most sense to me, particularly with a young HC and a real urgency to win now.
Doug pederson beat the tom brady patriots in the superbowl with a backup QB...

I was asking about any of our past OCs we've hired.

It's not like the Jags or Eagles were offensive power houses when he was their HC.

We all have our own favorite flavor I guess. Doesn't appeal to me and doesn't look like he is under consideration any how.

That was sarcasm

Good enough to win a superbowl with a backup. Ill give him a pass in jacksonville that is probably the most poorly run team in the league with the worst owner.

He won a Super Bowl and was fired with 2 years of winning a Super Bowl.
