Yes sir, they got my thumper I wanted. I mocked him alot in 4th round good pick!
I got a lot of guys that were on my list. Probably the most of any draft.

The coaches and GM are proving they know what it takes to put the best team on the field. I was surprised by two CB’s in the first two picks. Thought that Sainristil would have been a great addition but he wasn’t available at pick two. My other hoped for player was Nubin (S, Minnesota) who also got snagged in the second round. Let see how they can attract prospects as UDFA’s.

This seemed like a draft that concentrated on improving the D secondary and the trenches. It does look like the Lions are still the team to beat in an improving North. And to think just a few year’s back that would have been a totally ridiculous statement.

Williams is OK. We will see if he sticks. We all know Turner. he is probably not winning the kicking job but at least there will be someone new as a backup.

Hey, BroncoSmitty, looks like the Lions signed UDFA Kicker James Turner, Michigan. The search is over! Not that he had to do a lot of FG kicking throughout the season, but he did achieve 85% FGM with a long of 50. Put him in a dome at least nine times a year and who knows, the sky’s the limit!

Weren’t really any kickers that jumped out at me this year.

Wish the kid well, but he’s no Jake Moody.

I didn’t even reach for a kicker when mocking the lions draft this year. Did take receivers though, unlike Brad.

Holy shit! Goff just got 212 million for 4 years. WTF?

Better sign Ben Johnson to 4 more years at almost the same because that is the only way Goff is going to be worth that much.

So, this makes the hendon pick a complete waste. He is 2 years outside his contract when this monster deal is done, That pick would have been better suited as a d end, cb wr

Coaching does help, yet it seems Goff has leadership skills that transcends the X’s and O’s. His teammates rally around him. His contract seems commensurate with the QB market.

And if Goff had a season like Rodgers or Couzins, would it have been a genius draft pick? Hindisght is easier than seeing the future. Hooker was a reasonable risk/reward pick. If he’s that good that he should be starting on a team, deal him for picks. Even if it’s a second rounder it’s a good deal for the Lions. If it’s multiple picks, bonus. If they can’t get anything for him, pay him to continue as a backup.

I’m good with The Lions current QB decisions.

I dont follow how this stuff works. But Lions will be at Dallas for the 3rd season in a row? Since 2004, the past 20 years, the Lions and Cowboys will be playing for the 14th time I believe. 11 times they've been visitors with 3 times Dallas coming to Detroit.

Not going to call it favoritism or anything like that, I'm pretty sure there's just a formula that controls all this for every team. But it just jumps out at me when there's that big of a disparity.

But from 81 to 2003 they played 11 times, with Detroit being the home team 10 times. Guess it's always been weird scheduling.

Also we as manynationally televised games as we do 1pm games. 2 Sunday night games, 2 Mknday night games, a Thursday night game and obviously Thanksgiving. Only 6 of the traditional 1pm games, with another 4 regional 4:30 games. Last game of the season is undecided will be based on playoff picture, and we play Minnesota.

Nine home games, with the last game of the regular season is a home game. Could be very important for the Lions; great to see it’s at Ford Field. Overall, it seems like a pretty favorable schedule.

Decided to go ahead and get tickets to the Lions @ Vikings (local for me). It was a great game last year. Better seats this year.

Looked into trying to get some tickets for the Lions at Ford Field and coming to visit family, but apparently, the Lions have become pretty popular. Ah, the high price of success put upon the average fan.

Very favorable schedule. If that's a 1st place schedule, I'd like to see what the 4th place ones look like this year.

Only disappointment is that our bye is so early.

This is the first off season in quite a while that the national press is talking favorably about the Lions and it doesn’t feel like complete BS. Even when someone like Prisco does a look back at the draft from three years ago, he’s noting the Lions had a terrific draft. Detroit is becoming a destination instead of the team you didn’t want to get drafted by (here’s looking at you, St. Brown).

That said, the NFC North is also shifting from easy wins to a division with teams that the rest of the league would rather not see. Two teams coming off multi-win playoff appearances, and two teams with high potential draft picks to spark their restocked offenses. All four have legitimate hope.

If the Lions can start with W’s against playoff teams they beat last post season, the momentum will climb to a fever pitch. This is one of the few years in the past thirty that I am looking forward to the fall instead of looking backwards at the draft, wondering if this batch of player lottery tickets will produce a winner. The team has become the prize, those drafted to it the ones that have hit the jackpot. What a fantastic change.

Broderic Martin re-made his body in the off season. More muscle, less fat. If it does him some good, the Lions could have hellacious depth at DT.

Tim Twentyman has a positive article about new Defensive Line coach Terrell Williams. What caught my eye is that Williams was the Titan’s D-Line coach and Assistant Head Coach. Perhaps the Lions are poised to move into a more competent Defense in 2024.

Continuity in the core while adding talent is a powerful combination. If the D-Line improves to decrease the blitz rate while applying QB pressures, the secondary should show vast improvement. Looking forward to the changes.

Tim Twentyman is employed by the Lions, every article he does is postive.
