I like Joe Milton as a late round sleeper. Kid needs a lot of work but his arm strength is ridiculous
We will see. I just not that impressed with him, but I may be wrong. I shy away from USC and NC QB's as well. You know, I heard the same thing about Texas Tech and Big-12 quarterbacks.
Daniels is QB1 for me, and I am scratching my head why he's seen as QB2.
Look at how well he throws the football -- fantastic touch on the ball. The release is very quick. He can throw the football 20-30 yards without much effort. He can throw the ball off schedule and fit into tight windows. On top of that, he's got quality height and can use his legs to pick up big yardage.
If you're scared of LSU quarterbacks, shouldn't you be equally scared of USC and North Carolina quarterbacks?
Yep, was seeing shades of Josh Allen and Anthony Richardson when watching this kid throw last night. A team would be wise picking him on day 3, maybe even late day 2 of the draft and letting him sit for a few seasons.I like Joe Milton as a late round sleeper. I will add Milton to our discussion list, even though he went 9 for 13 and had two interceptions at the Senior Bowl.I like Joe Milton as a late round sleeper. Kid needs a lot of work but his arm strength is ridiculous
This is actually really close to Chris Simms ranking:Kurt Warners film rankings:
1. Caleb Williams
2. Jayden Daniels
3. Michael Penix
3a. Bo Nix
5. Drake Maye
6. JJ McCarthy
7. Spencer Rattler
A lot of guys seem to be down on Maye. Not surprising. This is actually really close to Chris Simms ranking:
S: Caleb Williams
A: Jayden Daniels
B: Nix, Penix, McCarthy
'Talented Project': Maye
Possibly also a combination of people being high on the other QBs.A lot of guys seem to be down on Maye. Not surprising.

It shouldn't be about UNC QB's if these so-called experts watch film but maybe coached by the same QB coach experts are seeing these same inconsistencies and they don't believe he can be that guy. Good breakdown by a Youtuber I enjoy watching his stuff and breakdowns. He looks at all the top QB's in this years draft. He even called him Howell LOL Most of these QB's do have holes and need quite a bit of development though so it isn't surprisingI also think some people jostle their rankings for views (and out of boredom). When a story gets repetitive and old, time for a new ranking/mock!
Maye has been inconsistent, but I wonder how much of his drop is due to former NC QBs busting and helmet-evaluation fear.
Honestly, my takeaway is Daniels at 2 and Maye at 3. You'd have to think the Patriots might not care that Maye is a project since they're likely in a 2 year rebuild of sorts.I also think some people jostle their rankings for views (and out of boredom). I think Drake Maye gives off Zach Wilson vibes, both talented with a high ceiling but needs time to sit.I also think some people jostle their rankings for views (and out of boredom). When a story gets repetitive and old, time for a new ranking/mock!

He did actually change his final 2018 rankings and had Lamar Jackson 4th by the his final eval I do believe. Still, he had CJ Stroud #1 last year. I think its worth following his QB rankings and maybe his TE rankings. I think Simms does a good job of spotting high end athleticism and noting how important that is in the modern game.Simms has been both accurate and inaccurate here. He put Patrick Mahomes as his QB#1 in 2017. In 2018, he had Lamar Jackson #1 and Josh Allen #2, when everybody else thought Darnold, Mayfield, and Rosen were better prospects. In 2020, his ranking was Burrow, Herbert, Love, and then Tua. On the other hand, he did put Zach Wilson over Trevor Lawrence.
I saw his last year rankings but tbf Lawrence has been a disappointment from what we thought we could expect but Wilson sucks lol.Simms has been both accurate and inaccurate here. Simms does a good job. Like most of us, we have our years where we're 100% accurate and other years, where we want to look into that Men in Black pen.I saw his last year rankings but tbf Lawrence has been a disappointment from what we thought we could expect but Wilson sucks lol.
Either way, he does seem to be fairly accurate over the years compared to other guys
other than Williams, I feel you.I must be the only person not enamored with this class.
Probably on average you have one prospect who has some sort of killer flaw that everyone is downplaying, one prospect that goes to a bad organization and doesnt develop well, and one prospect that is getting overhyped in the pre-draft process and will actually get drafted in rd2. So i figure we'll probably see 3 starters out of this draft.I must be the only person not enamored with this class.
