I thought it was funny because it’s true.

Really that simple.

I’m sorry.

I don’t have the bandwidth to hate every guy who leaves the franchise when it happens with almost every single decent talent to wear the uniform.

By trade, by free agency by stretcher….

Guys leave.

Only issue I have with PG being gone is because Kawhi is still here.

It’s time to end this ride.

I thought it was odd that they extended Kawhi, but then didn't want to give PG what he wanted. It feels like they want to move on from Kawhi/PG, but felt they needed to keep a star player for the new arena and Kawhi is the bigger name.

You’re probably right on the role the arena plays in the way they are moving forward with the roster. Feels like they hedged in riding out Kawhi but now in 2-3 years time will have a ton of cap that’s shed for them to shop FA.

So, they low balled PG and tried to give him a 2 year deal.

He said, nah.

….and rightfully so.

He wanted the same thing Kawhi got.

So the Clips acquiesced.

He then realized he had the upper hand and decided he wanted a full max and a no trade clause.

Yeah, go fuck yourself, my guy.

The Clippers gambled on the fact that he wanted to be in LA no matter what.

They lost that bet.

I mean, they low balled the guy offering 2 years

He answered outrage with outrage and demanded the 4 year max and a no trade clause.

Night, night 213 era.

George signed a four-year, $212-million max free agent deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. But the All-Star guard said on "Podcast P with Paul George" that he was willing to stay with the Clippers for the three-year, $150-million extension they gave Kawhi Leonard but with a no-trade clause attached. George said the Clippers wouldn't do that or give him a four-year, $212-million contract if they wouldn't attach a no-trade clause.

That.

They also have Harden and added some nice pieces in FA....so they may not be a top 6 team but still in the 7-8 range.

He didn’t want to get Blake Griffin-ed. When they finally quit on this core (and you know what was right around the corner) PG would have been the guy dealt. Now he’s leaving LA on someone else’s terms and stuff

Both would have been dealt.

George would bring back more.

Your Sixers have a 2 year window IMO.

Yeah, you will not get back a lot for Leonard. He was a great player in his prime and still very good when healthy but dude is always hurt.

It's his last contract. IMO. I think that is why he wanted the 4th year. He doesn't strike me as the player who will be like Bron...playing to 39 and beyond.
George?

Not unless he gets a serious injury.

He plays mostly below the r as a perimeter player.

He can play til 40 if he so chooses too.

Just not for anywhere near the max.

Shooting is the last thing to go.

PG can shoot that shit.

If he sticks around after this contract it will be to ring chase. He’s more likely at 39 to take a minimum somewhere to try and get that ring (if he doesn’t win one in Philly please God make that happen).

Maybe not even that because Embiid is Mr. Glass. I say this all the time, his next trip down the floor may be his last.
Drummond can fill in for 20-25 games as a starter. I say that to say they need to rest him and have him ready for the playoff run.

They still have guys like PG, Maxey, Martin, Oubre who can score. Drummond just needs to rebound and play defense.

I said it because I do not see him as a guy who absolutely loves basketball. I think he wanted the huge deal because he knows he is closer to the end than the beginning. Nothing he has said, just my personal take and opinion. Maybe, I am wrong but I think he retires after the player option in year 4.

Because of Embiid, not PG or Maxey.

They are contenders with him.

They remain a 2nd round out at best without.

Not gimpy Embiid either.

To beat the Celtics or Knicks, they need him at 80% or better come playoff time.

PG is not getting healthier at the age of 36. Before the 74 games he just played this past season....

No.

He will ring chase.

At 39, if no more major injuries, dude is at least Nic Batum, no?

He will ring chase because his legacy and being a HOFer is really important to PG.
