Had heard he was considered a max deal which seems odd. Not sure why.

It's a max extension, not a max contract. With two seasons left on his current deal, that's the most they could extend him for (years and annual raises).

That's my point. The reason the US doesn't just obliterate other teams is because they aren't a true team. They'd almost be better served just sending this year's Celtics, but that wouldn't be the special draw that Team USA's loaded roster brings.

I think the team play is a bigger hurdle than overall talent level (within reason of course).

While @Mecca of the “B” Team hasn't said why she changed her screen name...it's more likely that it has to with her Clippers being the "B team" to the Lakers in LA (which she's always acknowledged) and/or the Clips big swing for PG and Kawhi not resulting the title many thought they'd get.

Pretty safe bet that it has nothing to do with PG fulfilling his contract and walking away when the Clips wouldn't pay him what he was asking for (after re-signing Kawhi) and that she didn't want them to pay him.

I don't know what the culture is like out in LA, but at least Pacers fans had the guts to say he was a problem... He did us dirty just as he did the Clippers this year.

Soon as we refused to coddle him as if he were LeBron, he bolted. He's a fucking mercenary... It's what he's always done throughout his NBA existence.

Not one to speak for somebody else but she was simply admitting the Clippers are the B team in Los Angeles. The Lakers are the main team in the city. She has said this several times over the years, especially back in the days when we were on FN. Kind of like the Knicks are the main team in NY and the Nets are the B team.

It would be almost impossible for the Clippers ever to be the A team IMO. They would need 10 or so titles in the next 15-20 years and the Lakers to be complete dogshit with no more titles during that time for it to even be a real discussion.

PG did the Clippers dirty? He looked out for himself as he should have with this being his last contract most likely. The Clippers are the ones who refused to offer a 4th year....

If it's not his last contract, it's almost certainly the last contract that will be anywhere close to max level.
