Why should teams that are willing to spend to put the best team they can on the floor be punished for it?

That Toad guy is a huge douche/asshat....not surprised at all.....

When I joined here in the summer of 2014 a bunch of us came over from Sports Illustrated's Fan Nation and a huge part of the refugees came from a private group....where there was hardly any moderation and people started testing boundaries quickly here.

Well, suffice to say I think myself, @Mecca of the “B” Team, @Wamu and @Cyder are the only ones left.....might be a few others I cannot remember.

But, most saw the ban-hammer warm up and banish them.

Toad? Was he that idiot who came in here all full of himself because apparently he and some others from whatever shithole they came from thought he was some kind of hotshot poster who was going to "take over the site" and saying "they'll learn"?

And? I'm not opposed to no salary cap. I don't believe in punishing achievement and trying to put the best possible product on the floor. If an owner doesn't want to do that...sell the team. If the area they're in prevents it...move.

In short, I'm not a socialist.

If the league is going to insist on a salary cap, then do like I posted above and when a team is signing their own FA, only count a portion of their salary against the cap.

In fairness, I think I was a bit of a dick the first few days....then I saw people disappearing and scaled waaaaaay back.

I think most were eliminated within 4-6 weeks.

The league isn't going anywhere.

If a team can't compete where they are they can move. Many have...including the "glamor team" that I'm a fan of.

It's as much about ownership as it is anything else.

Otherwise, how do you explain the Clippers and Knicks being terrible for decades or on the opposite end, what OKC has done.

The cap hasn't always been there and hasn't always been as full of ways to try to force parity yet, the league has thrived.
