Your order is wrong IMO. Secure the big trade before making potentially unnecessary smaller ones. Paying to dump JHS is ridiculous IMO.

I'm all for signing GTJ if possible with the TPMLE, but not to the point of paying to dump guys you just drafted last season (a 1st rounder and a guy you traded up to get in the 2nd). I think Lewis is showing enough in summer league for someone to be interested in taking him as part of a bigger trade. Trent is essentially a 6'5 SG. Unless he's going to play as a small wing he's already behind Reaves for minutes, plus he's got the just re-signed Christie and newly drafted Knecht in the mix for those 2 positions (SG and SF).

Should have taken Whitmore...JHS makes 3.8 mill so he makes more than the other small contracts....somebody could add him and stash him in the G-League. They could waive Reddish and maybe Lewis....or keep him or JHS deep on the bench. Add 2 2nd rounders to get cap space.

Christie, Knecht are potentially solid role players. Hayes and Castleton are young guys JJ could develop. Hinson is a guy that has looked good and we could stash in the G-League....
