Just my take from that time?

There were a few years where KG was better/more impactful than Duncan IMO. I think KG’s peak was slightly higher.

But Duncan was better for longer.

And like you said, the winning thing matters too.
Yeah this is how I see it too

Can't find anyone that is a bigger fan of KG than me, but I have a hard time accepting his take here. I think KG was more versatile and was cursed with the worst-run franchise in basketball, but he was not better. I think the closer call than those 2 would be KG or Dirk. My personal PF rankings.

1. Duncan
2. Barkley
3. KG
4. Dirk
5. Malone

I would not argue having Mchale at 5
IMO I can't put Barkley above KG. Dirk is debatable. Malone needs to be higher too. Not his fault he ran into the MJ Bulls

Malone was a volume scorer that did little else. No pick and roll and he is not even in the top 10.

Barkley lower is fair, I think he is criminally underrated though.

Seems like more of a ploy for the history books and viewership. I mean I’ll watch

I mean I think Malone is a bit overrated but I wouldn’t have him that low. My top 5 is set in stone either way: Duncan, KG, Dirk, Malone, Barkley

All I got is Jason Kidd from my school

When Jaylen Brown was at Cal I definitely did NOT see why he was so highly touted and drafted. Oops.

My favorites of all time are probably MJ, LeBron, Shaq, Curry, and yes Klay Thompson. Just always loved that dude's vibe. That changed after his injury but I'm not going to shit on him for it. Also loved watching Jason "White Chocolate" Williams. Wasn't as into the NBA in the 80s but looking back gotta love Bird and Magic too.

My top 5

1) Steph (obv)
2) Dirk
3) Iverson
4) Jordan
5) Hakeem

The funny thing about my list is the qualities that made Iverson great are ones that I generally hate in all players today. I get it, it makes no sense I give Russ so much shit and yet hold Iverson in high regard. But damn it Iverson was absolutely electric.

Interesting.

I feel the same about Iverson. He was one of my all time favorites to watch.

I think it maybe because I was younger and didn’t know as much as I do today? Maybe just because he was so electric I didn’t care.

But there was also just nobody like him. There still isn’t, but there are a lot of guys who are brilliant on ball players today.

I hate him

He was such a net negative for the game itself

The amount of travels and Carries ignored because of his existence is awful
