This is the worst defense the Lions are going to face all year. If the offense can't get going in this game it is time to start viewing Ben Johnson not taking an HC job elsewhere as a negative of the off-season.

Not sure I would go that far because Goff cant seem to hit the broad side of a barn so far.

Still, it did seem like TB defense pretty much knew what was coming on many plays.

Is it Ben Johnsons play calls or Jared Goff checking every fucking play down?
Defense offsides and you get a free play? Check down.
3rd and 10, you need to get 10 yards? Check down.
4th and 10 you absolutely need to get 10 yards, 8 yards does you zero good? Check down.
Time literally running out? Check down.

I hate to quote Matt Millen for anything, but: "Where are your testicles?"

Ball going a few yards shy of 1st was extremely common last year too. Laporte and St Brown just finished with YAC. Bucs had been ready for it and no yac happened other than 1 crazy effort by Williams.

I think Goff is going right where the play is called for.

Defense played well. Arnold is still a little rough out there.

Offense was good in the first half but stalled in the second. Goff was better. Tim Patrick needs to stop making business decisions when catching the ball close to the sideline.

Another blah performance though. This was 2 close plays from being a tie game.

Offense was pretty lackluster again. The fact that the defense did as good as it did with so many injuries on that side is great.

Davenport now done for the year, Barnes for some time. Sounds like McNeil and Branch might not miss a game, so that is promising.

For once I am thrilled for the early bye. Lions are battered out there

I swear to God, if the Lions are forced into finally playing James Houston at DE, and he gets some production I'm going to punch Dan Campbell in the face.

... well I'm going to metaphorically punch him in the face, online. I'm certainly not going near him in person with ill intentions.

Actually upon further review of Dan Campbell's arms, I'm going to proactively apologize to him right now for the allegorical, metaphorical punch that conceivably could have circumstantially been alluded to.

Actually upon even further reflection I want to unequivocally state that although I was obviously joking, it's actually not that funny.

Which is unusual for me, because usually I'm hilarious.

But in light of Dan Campbell recently moving because of stupid fans causing him to fear for his family's safety I shouldn't have made that joke.

Really I'm just commenting on Houston and his lack of getting a shot to build on his second half of his rookie campaign.

Is Jake Bates going to be a problem? The 2 xp he made were shaky too.

He was a massive question mark going into the season, he was bad most of camp, but got the job by default when the other guy got put on IR.

I was thinking the same thing. The ball is coming off his foot sideways. Better fix that shit.

He pushed all 3 even though 2 snuck through. Looked really shaky.

That field in AZ sucks. Guys just fall down and get hurt. Reminds me of the old Philly stadium. We have lots of depth on defense so we will survive for now. Offense is 1 injury away from not functioning IMO. Hopefully La Porta is OK. We dont have a ton of receiving options.

Debuting black Unis. Not thrilled but whatever.

Big difference going into bye week 3-1 vs 2-2.

Seahawks have been a little too good against us historically. I’m glad it’s at home, and against a new head coach for Seattle. This time around the Lions sport a good defense and their own 12th man. I hope the fans who bought tickets continue to use them instead of selling to visitors on the secondary market. Being a Monday night game, it means a chance to showcase to the nation that the Lions are for real in three phases that matter; with the local fans, with the national fans and in the win column.

Reversing the recent history with the Seahawks can be huge on the momentum front. Looking forward to the Lions coming out victorious.

Ragnow is listed as out for this Monday with a torn pectoral. Didn‘t see any prognosis for how long he’ll be out, just that it’s better to let him heal now so he’s available as the season goes on. Fortunately, we have some line depth to accommodate him missing time this week.

I wonder what part of the Offensive game plan will be the most impacted? Does the running game or the passing game take a hit? It was shaping up to be a defensive struggle based on how both teams have started. The Lions should be the best offense Seattle has seen so fart this year; hopefully, Goff steps up his play this week while the Detroit Defense continues to show how new and improved they’ve become.

Both take a hit. Its Rags. Not like you are going to find better than him. I expect he will sit the game after the bye as well.
