From what I read on Lumpkin was he was pretty much a blocking TE. If he had hand and route running skill in a small college I don't expect much in the NFL

And we're not. In context of my whole post, he has the potential to stick on this team.

My expectation was that if we needed to sing a TE perhaps we could have done that vs a P or K that we could have got in round 7 with some draft manipulation. From what I read there is not a lot of upside to the kid, time will tell.

He went undrafted for a reason. Not sure how many teams will try and grab him off the PS?

I never saw the need for a QB although I would have loved taking Hendon Hooker.

I fon't see Cunningham as the 3rd option, more as an experiment to become the new Edelman. If he fits, he'll spend 90% of 2023 on the bench and getting some mop up time on field. His chance to break out will be 2024.

Reason is simple - he's not ready. Teams attempted to take play ready QB's or high ceiling projects.
