Pirates might be kicking themselves for not dealing for Ford in a Reynolds trade.

There is still time. I don't think they planned on him making it to start the season regardless from what little bits I read.

Maybe I’m wrong but that is how I took all of the stuff I read. But who knows, maybe I just heard something and assumed.

They were pumped on how well he was doing, but I read or heard Dipoto kind of say a month back that is was very unlikely no matter how he did. At least to start the season. GM's playing games.

I recall a MLB player we picked up a few years ago who broke his leg / ankle at a homeplate HR celebration and missed an entire year of play.

he was a lefty DH type.

He broke his leg with another team then we acquired him a couple years later. he played OK for us career avg numbers.

damn if I can remember his name ( getting old and I hate instant google search vs racking my brain )

The table could not be set any better for this kid to succeed than it is right now this spring - summer.

I am pulling for him and I think he gets over the hump and puts all the past couple years call up - failures behind him.

I do not think he reaches super star status anytime soon.... but I do see him being one of our top 3-4 hitters on the ball club this year.

And there is always that chance he hits .300 and drives in 80 rbi with 25+ bombs. He has the tool set. Especially if he continues to rake LH pitching and gets 450+ at bats

This is actually kind of concerning. Looks like Moore will be out at least a month basically it means he is going to miss all of April. And they need a good defensive SS to spell JP and Wong. Not critical but definitely throwing a monkey wrench which may cost them Flexen plus a minor leaguer.
