What puzzles me is, how do you BS into a 107 win season? That is utterly mind blowing.
I can't tell if you're calling me out or agreeing...

And I can't answer you other than saying the stars really did line up for a few of our guys. Despite injury after injury etc etc

So who on the current roster really projects to be a piece of this team in 2 years?

Webb
Bart
Doval

Maybe Slater and Yaz? Estrada?

that looks to me like a team that needs help.

SELL!! SELL!! SELL!!
Webb, Junis, Harrison, Hjelle
Bart, Tyro, Slater, Doval

Your point is taken

Junis is a free agent after 2023, so unless he signs an extension, his name isn't part of this discussion.

Hjelle is a Sabean pick so he isn't part of the big picture for this regime.

I think Junis is worth mentioning. He might be good enough to focus on. Hjelle is worth a mention, but he hasn’t shown anything yet. Harrison is legit (as are Luciano, Matos and Ramos), but I was talking more about players at the MLB level. Not prospects.

If Estrada is considered part of your future core, you have no future core.

The very fabric of baseball it selfhas changed quite a bit in the past few years.the game has changed and so have the players. SOTO turned down 15 year 445M offer. Just what is the price for a centerpiece player. I thought Harper was high. Now we have Judge and Soto in that arena.

Bur you have to surround the centerpiece with talent. If Harper and Soto and judge can cost over 35M a year what will 2nd yier players cost .. 25M? 3r tiet ... 10M ...

Going to be very expensive to build a top tier contender. And ... and as you pointed out .... we really dont have .manyy of the pieces ...

Well, if you are excluding all players who will be free agents before 2024, then he doesn't need to be mentioned. He has been a very pleasant surprise but I think we all forget he came to the team with 5 years of big league experience. He had the prospect pedigree but had a really hard time putting it all together with Kansas City, thus the reason they non-tendered him last offseason. He really is no different than John Brebbia, other than the fact that one is a starter and the other is a reliever.

The free agent class this offseason looks pretty weak. Top names I'm noticing:
Tim Anderson (if club option is declined, unlikely)
Andrew Benintendi
Xander Bogaerts (if opts out)
Carlos Correa (if opts out)
Aaron Judge
Brandon Nimmo
Joc Pederson
Jean Segura (if club option is declined, possible)
Dansby Swanson
Trea Turner

Jacob deGrom (if opts out)
Joe Musgrove
Clayton Kershaw
Aaron Nola (if club option is declined, unlikely)
Martin Perez
Carlos Rodon (if opts out, very likely)
Luis Severino (if club option is declined, unlikely)
Taijuan Walker (if player option is declined, very likely)

Not feeling like listing any relievers. Stayed away from anyone 35 or older for this list.

Trea Turner probably the interesting one, we could always use another middle infielder. But seriously, with no chance of Judge, why not Turner?

I think Judge WANTS to want to be a Giant. But if I were him, I would avoid this org like the plague right now.

Nah, he's doing the 'local kid' angle to drive up the price for the Yankees. He needs to never leave that launching pad. He'll be MVP, no way he signs elsewhere. Well, 98% sure. Fun to dream but not happening in SF.

I'd like to see the pricetag on Turner but he may be worth it. Maybe actually stop FZ from churning middle infielders.

Exactly. He'll cost but not Judge level. Yankees gonna offer him 10 years $400 mil+

Mancini doesn't make my list. He's overrated for a 1st baseman/left fielder/DH type player. He hasn't had a good season since 2019.

I forgot about Contreras, so yes, I agree he should be added to that list.

I have my probs with Belt, and he is having a horrendous season, but he should be on the list, I think.
