Would be pretty foolish of him to play that game. Could be leaving a lot of money behind.

Sure. but does he then wait until the summer and get the bigger extension (with more clarity on Lebron's future)?

Looking back at Johnson's stats, my memory was inflating his value a bit.

Grandmama was on his way to being something special until that back injury.

He and Alonzo Mourning were a fun, flawed duo.

Does power forward really exist anymore? It's more like two slightly different wings in today's NBA.

There are definitely a few, like Aaron Gordon, or Sabonis, Anthony Davis, Julius Randle. Even those guys look a lot different from the 90s power forward.

But a lot of the guys who play the “4” today are players like Giannis or KD, Paul George or Siakam who are just taller wings that can defend power forwards and play in 4 guard offenses.

I don’t think the power forward is dead, but it certainly isn’t necessary and it isn’t a position every team uses.

Well yeah bc Dame keeps saying he only wants to play for Miami. Nobody is giving up assets for him. Dame did this. Downfall of that could be if Portland doesn't like what Miami has, Dame is screwed. Still in favor of Dame bc it seems Miami will do whatever it takes

Does this work for all 3 teams?

Portland: Lowry, Martin, Jacquez, Jovic, 2025 1st (Orl from Den), 2027 1st (Mia), 2029 1st (Mia)
Miami: Lillard, Anthony, Isaac
Orlando: Herro, 2026 2nd (Mia from LAL)

Portland gets 3 1sts (maybe some pick swaps?), a vet expiring PG for salary matching, and 3 solid young players.
Miami gets Dame and two players the Magic may move on from anyway that could still have value
Orlando gets Herro and a future 2nd

Yep. Jacquez and Jovic are question marks at this point. Nobody knows what they will be. That's quite a bit of risk for the best player in franchise history

This isn't a bad deal at all. You aren't getting another star/superstar for Dame. Even if it wasn't Miami, any deal for Dame would look similar to this.

Obviously Herro would be flipped somewhere else but point remains the same
