This isn't a bad deal at all. You aren't getting another star/superstar for Dame. Even if it wasn't Miami, any deal for Dame would look similar to this.

Yeah, that is a fair return.

If Miami is putting that package out there, Portland should take it.

Future 1st round picks are question marks too
But a team can scout and have choice over who they take. Selling those two guys as “like a first round pick” as I’ve seen Heat fans doing on Twitter is some grade A bull shit.

Obviously Herro would be flipped somewhere else but point remains the same

How the fuck they get 4 first round picks AND Herro? To get to that number of picks Herro has to be diverted to someone else to add another first.

Exactly but in a deal for your best franchise player you want a less questionable return. Picks are fine as a piece but like others....BKN got Bridges, NO got Ingram. Portland gets Martin? That's a joke

If Portland wants to bend over and take it, they can

Duncan, Malone, Garnett, Giannis, Dirk, Barkley,
Duncan, Barkley, Garnett, Dirk, Giannis, Barkley. I think Giannis has a good shot at taking 2, and an outside shot at 1 when it is all said and done.

Hence my three way trade with the Magic (gets 3 1sts anyway)

Their ceiling is 7th or 8th guy on a team. 15 minute a game players

If we are being honest…

So are the vast majority of all late firsts.

The value in these types of deals, IMO usually comes in the picks and swaps that take place after the acquiring team’s contention window is over.

Those could end up being really valuable.

The rest is mostly filler.

But a team that has control of those picks can do their own work and make their own decisions.

Need those guys too.

Miami has very little to offer the Blazers. Trying to find a less disgusting trade for Dame within this framework is only shades of gray unfortunately.

Ideally, their trade partner would have a vet PG, starting SF and a young C (along with 1sts) to swap for Dame/Jurkic. Miami isn't that partner, and I'm not entirely sure that partner exists.

Totally agree those picks have more value than someone else’s from the last 2 years.

Just saying I don’t think those picks have a ton of value either.
