Zion had a medical red flag through high school and college. On physical tools he is an easy call as on generational talent. With multiple leg injuries before he even hit the leg the current result is not super shocking.

If hebputs together 4-5 years of good health the view on him will shift completely.
DNP- thick in the thighs are his undoing.

wasn't Milicic considered elite (did go ahead of Bosh, Melo and wade). Not sure if 7 feet but close....and Lebron went first. Because he went ahead of Melo that helps make your point against most players.....not Lebron, IMO.

No man.

It was a good draft.

Milicic was nowhere near the prospect LeBron and Wemby are.

Not elite.

KD is a number 1 overall in almost every draft class.

Darko only gets that consideration in a weak one

Yup I’ll give a football analogy. Marcus Dupree was a multi generational talent, likely the most talented to ever play rb. Due to injuries and other things he never even became a generational player.
Jamarcus Russell.

What a fuckin waste.

Yeah, I am gonna concede this point to you.

For me, generational talents are guys that are unique.

Before all the DNP-fats, Zion fit into that category.

Dude was Uber-Barkley or Supreme Larry Johnson.

I think @trojanfan12 said it best…

Zion has generational talent, I suppose.

But, he isn’t a generational player.
I also think trojan explained it well......just saying not everyone must view it that way.

Only area in this discussion I really disagree with is the opinion most would take Wemby over Lebron. I strongly disagree with that (or strenuously object for the Few Good Men fans).

I've watched every Lakers Summer League game. Colin Castleton looks good. Looks like the Lakers Scouting Department has found yet another late round/undrafted guy that's gonna be able to contribute to an NBA roster

Yep. He looks good. I've been paying attention to Max Christie as well. I like how he has been stepping up and taking a leadership role with these guys.

Agree.

I would take Lebron 10/10 times.

It is a hypothetical that nobody can possibly be objective about because we know what LeBron has done with his career.

But I would have taken Wemby.

no where near but went #2 ahead of Melo, considered to be a pretty strong prospect (just as strong as Durant or close)? darko simply doesn't help your narrative.

Wade, Bosh and Melo going 3-5 is a weak draft?

No.

The Pistons made a bad pick on an unknown 7 footer over a known and highly rated prospect in Melo.

This actually helps my narrative.

He just wasn’t going over the generational talent because he wasn’t an elite prospect.

Yeah, the Kandi man effect.

I can see both. Lebron was NBA caliber from damn near 8th grade. But Wemby looked like Lebron in a 7'5" body. That would be tough to pass on.
