Raised in Montana, picked my teams based in favorite players.

Utah Utes because I lost a ping-pong match. Fandom was what we put on the line.
Ha ha ha. Moved to Nashville almost 2 years ago from Kalispell, MT where I was for about 2 years....

Heading to Vegas....or Phoenix next year. Final stop on DJ USA TOUR

and despite you thinking you know they can still get their guy you don't know....never mind teams don't often trade up in incredibly weak drafts.

You are making hindsight points and that doesn't exist at time of draft.

It was a bad pick when they made it. They literally shocked the draft analysts because he wasn’t near enough to the top of the class in the eyes of most talent evaluators.

It is an even worse pick with the value of hindsight. When you make a pick like that, you best be right.

Yes, there are other, better choices the Cavs could have made there. Pretty much anything would have been better than using 1.1 on Bennett.

The best organizations use their assets in efficient ways.

Like when the Celtics had 1.1 and wanted Tatum.

But we’re able to trade down to 1.3 because they had Intel saying the 6ers and Lakers were going to take Fultz and Ball respectively.

Had the Cavs traded down to 5 or 6 and taken Bennet, it wouldn’t have been nearly as bad.

And yes, they could have made a move like that. No guarantee they get major pick value because it was a weak class, but they could have moved back.

Of course nobody knew what they were getting in Giannis.

I even implied that it would have taken a stroke of luck that would have only been possible if they traded “far enough down”.

You need to get off your high horse with BS. Nothing even remotely “absurd” about what I wrote.

He was considered the highest upside guy in the draft, but one of the lower floors

That was one of my best drafts as I had him and Gobert in my personal top 10

I unfortunately was in Butte. The rest of Montana is beautiful.

in a weak draft?

Noel was the clear 1-1 before he tore his acl, which Philly didn’t care about. They’d still end up with Noel

No SF outside of Lebron type is going to be able to bully him in yhe post, wingspan makes it so they can't just shoot over.

Edwards improvement on defense has me far more excited than his offense improvement
And Conley would get Edwards and Herro the ball.

KAT being used as the 3rd team and getting Herro would actually make me excited for NBA again.

Yeah, I remember him entering the conversation of best available somewhere between 8-10.

Nobody was going to take him near the top of the draft, but late lotto seemed like a good time to roll those dice.

Lots of teams surely regret not doing so.

Pretty crazy he is the sticking point. Even with Martin their package is underwhelming.

Because Dame wants one team only that team has all the leverage. Portland either takes a weak deal or trades him where he doesn't want to go.

I think that takes Herro’s value away to an extent. He is good at creating his own shot as well but I think you are talking about a Klay role to an extent
Yeah he isn't just a spot up shooter at all. 3 level scorer who can play some pg and gotten stronger every season

Kevin O'Connor is too good for the ringer.

BYU, I had no interest, but the idea of making a Utah fan cheer for BYU was hilarious to me.

Yeah...this is prolly the best they could do without getting a 3rd team involved. And not enough...
