Smart.

How much time does Embiid have left?

He is playing at an MVP level.

The 6ers time is now. This window will not last forever. You can’t afford to waste a year of Embiid’s prime because it may not last as long as you think.
Agreed, pretty sure Embiid spends more time on the ground than anyone else in the league. That takes a toll.

Morey is going to end up winning this deal in the end. It’s more likely to go into the season than it is to get worked out now in my opinion. Everyone said he had to trade Simmons. It played out with Simmons actions being what everyone predicted and what drove them to say Morey has to deal him. They were a man down. Simmons was a distraction. He still held out and won the deal. The Sixers hold all the cards right now with this decision for Harden to opt back in. That was the real battle and the Sixers won.

Did he win the deal?

I would argue both teams lost.

You forget the 6ers also had to give Curry and Drummond who were valuable role players to get Harden, who while a good player, was most definitely a bad contract.

Nets lost because Simmons was a not even a shell of his former self. His game is gone.

No, it is all of it. Sure he had a couple good games, which actually was unusual by his normal playoff standards. You were seeing the light on him after the playoffs last year, don’t go pivoting on him now just because you may be stuck with him. I think he’s going to be a one year rental for someone and they aren’t going to have to give much.
You said Harden doesn’t do well in prove it situations. Just because I want to move on from the guy doesn’t mean that Harden didn’t prove himself last year. He was a solid teammate. He did them a solid to help complete the roster last summer. He assimilated to a different role as a playmaker. He sacrificed his own game for the team and led the league in assists per game.

I can say I don’t want him back and still admit that Harden “did well in a prove situation”. That was your post and that’s the idea I’m pushing back on. I get it. You hate the guy. Hate can be blinding and it gets in the way of you seeing that he had a great season last year. This whole narrative is different if the Sixers make shots in the last 4-5 minutes of the 4th quarter of Game 6. Why? Because Harden actually did have a great season last year.

The Heat cant be seriously interested in Harden can they? Yes he can score, but his defense is terrible and he just does NOT seem like he would be a fit in Miami with Butler. Seems like it would create some serious chemistry issues.

Lmao I don’t hate him but he wouldn’t get a fn dime from me. Obviously GMs around the league are looking at things like I am at this point. It’s such a shame he is unhappy he doesn’t already have a deal in place.

Plus they could let Hart walk and would get salary cap.space from Fournier and Hart. Plus a pick or 2 they wouldn't have from letting Harden just walk.
Why are you always coming from a position of weakness when you assess every non-Laker team in every hypothetical deal? You also lose another year of Embiid’s prime. What’s left after Harden is a 6-8 seed with Maxey Embiid and meh around it.

By trading Harden.....you are trusting Maxey to develop into the player he could be. Embiid and Maxey is a pretty solid 1-2 punch. Harris is not a shabby #3 guy.....instead of the #4 he is with Harden on the team.

Plus you have Hart and Hattenstein who is an upgrade over Reed who you could let walk and use the MLE.

Fournier could be released or used as depth off the bench. Maybe trade him around the deadline as an expiring contract.

Not to mention the picks

Did he win the deal?
Without a doubt. The Simmons asset was garbage. The Sixers had the 3rd best record in the league last year.
I would argue both teams lost.
That’s silly. Both players had to be moved and the Sixers got the better of the deal.
You forget the 6ers also had to give Curry
Who in playoff competition got Kevin Huerter a huge contract because he’s a defensive liability.
and Drummond
We’re lamenting a back up center when the in house replacement has been the best +/- back up Embiid has had in his career with the Sixers
who were valuable role players to get Harden, who while a good player, was most definitely a bad contract.
Not for a team willing to pay the luxury tax. He played at 35 mil last season and was 20 and 10 and the team had the third best record in the league.
Nets lost because Simmons was a not even a shell of his former self. His game is gone.
Thank you. The Nets lost this deal.

You don’t have to worry about it. I don’t think they matchup with the Sixers for trade.

Come on now. You’re acting like we aren’t friends and I just got here. You have high levels of sports hate for James Harden. I get it. I have sports hate for a great many players over the years in many different sports for many different reasons.
Obviously GMs around the league are looking at things like I am at this point. It’s such a shame he is unhappy he doesn’t already have a deal in place.

What is winning the deal? Quickley and Hart is winning it imo. Getting Quickley next to Maxey and adding slop is not. Who cares about picks. Only good for picks is it being useful attaching to Harris or another player in a deal. If Philly gets Hart and Quickley…I like it

Just swap him for Kyrie and be done with it.

Just leave the Clippers the fuck outta it…lol
Ewww… I don’t want him anywhere near my squad. Did you see my 3 way Philly Clippers Blazers deal? This is assuming Balmer wants to take one more swing at his Kawhi/PG13 group. I even gave you Furkan Korkmaz to help replace Kennard.

Kyrie and Maxey isn’t ideal and he is a cuckoo. Not sure he would get along with Embiid.

Clippers offer Powell and role players.
Knicks offer Quickly, Fournier and Toppin (doubting they offer Hart)

Obviously the Knicks package is the best one especially with Hart. Kyrie deal is interesting BUT I don’t think it is good for Dallas. Luka and Harden is nightmare for Dallas, not opposing teams.

I wouldn't blame Embiid at all if the Sixers underperformed again next season and he demanded a trade outta Philly.
Now you’re starting to see it. The Sixers can’t just dump Harden and see the group dip back to a 6-8 seed without Embiid begging out. Shit, that’s a threat to come anyway.

Those are 2 useful players for the 76ers.
