Stop it.

Maxey develops without Harden there and they could be right there where they were this season. Maxey is younger and has a higher ceiling than Harden and they would have some much needed depth.

G-Maxey
G-Hart
F-Harris
F-Tucker
C-Embiid

G-Quickley
G-Melton
G-Korkmaz
G-Springer
F-Fournier (if not released)
F-House
F-McDaniels
C-Hartenstein

Use the MLE on a FA. Quickley and Hartenstein make that a deeper team. Let Reed walk and use Hartenstein as your backup big. If Embiid misses 15-20 games Hartenstein is a better short term fill in than Reed.
That team is nothing special

My hope on Dame is that the Sixers with Harden was a non-consideration for him. But with Harden out the Sixers with Maxey/Embiid a head coach in Nurse and decent role players around it that can defend is an enticing situation for him.

Thinking about Dame, with a big like Embiid, is scary.

Sounds like Dame wants Miami or Brooklyn.

But, Portland has to be okay with what’s coming back in return.
And it sounds like Portland isn’t fond of Herro.

What can BKN offer? A ton of picks, Cam Johnson, Dinwiddie and Cam Thomas.

That alone is better than Harris and picks

Nurse could really develop a player like Maxey......without Harden there.

I really like that kid.

Yeah, BK could really blow any team out of the water......other than NY who could offer a lot of picks.....

So, he put up some stats in the regular season, had a couple of good playoff games, but was inconsistent, disappointing and the Sixers got another 2nd round exit.
He sacrificed stats is the more accurate assessment. He took less shots. He altered the way he plays the game. He deferred as the 2nd option on pick and roll. His presence and his play helps Embiid become MVP with his Embiid’s best scoring season ever. All of this is inconsistent with what everybody said Harden is. The Sixers 2nd round exit is status quo and a condition that existed before Harden. The playoff failure isn’t all on him. I don’t even know if I would say the biggest aspect of the failure are on him. I would say it’s more on Embiid. He’s been the constant in all of the Sixers 2nd round futility.
You have a very different definition of a "great season" than I do.
I think leading the league in assists while also averaging 20 PPG puts a guy easily in the top 20% of players in the league for performance. That’s not even an argument. I bet the real number is closer to top 15%. If your season is among the top 20% in the league in terms of production I think it’s fair to say the player had “ a great season”.

Yes but other teams can offer better deals than Philly.....

True, but as we have seen, if a player wants to go somewhere...he can generally get there.

If memory serves, Dame has a player option after next season, so he could let it out that he won't re-sign.

That could keep the other offers low.

I'd say that a disappointing playoff performance and a 2nd round exit when you were brought in to at least get to the finals is not a great season.

You are seeing Maxey for what he is, not what he could be.

Without Harden.
Please go back and watch more Maxey. I know my team dude. I’m not putting a ceiling on Maxey. But you have placed him into a role he hasn’t shown he can play yet. Watch him on his rim attacks in the Celtics series. They scouted him exceptionally well. Maxey goes to the rim with his head down already deciding he’s going to shoot or finish at the rim. Maxey to the rim was all hands on deck to Maxey in the series because he can’t pass out of it and make plays yet. Additionally, if you watch him every night, you know that he has really been inconsistent as a bucket getter in the 4th quarter of games. This was especially evident in the playoffs. At one time, he had the lowest eFG% in the 4Q in the playoffs. I do have an imagination for what Maxey could be. That’s why I don’t want him thrust into a role he isn’t ready for. He needs another year as a 2 while adding playmaking to his game before you can hand the team over to him as the lead guard.

And Nurse didn't coach players up in Toronto?

Okay.

Yes but other teams can offer better deals than Philly.....
Brooklyn can. The Heat can’t because they won’t include Bam. They take back Herro who still has 4 years left on his deal. They also likely have to swallow other pieces. The Heat don’t have a ton of firsts they can offer either. I think Dame to Miami would have to be a three way deal.

On Brooklyn, I know that Dame and Bridges have a solid relationship but that team maxes out as a 4-5 seed and they aren’t a legit ring contender. Dame who apparently loves Portland is going to jump to a similar situation that won’t net a ring? I’m not seeing it. Brooklyn deal is great for Portland because of picks. Is that deal great for Dame? I would argue not if he’s really doing this for a shot at a ring.

If I'm Embiid, I'm in Dames driveway begging him to demand a trade to Philly like
