Not a great season for the Sixers doesn’t necessarily mean not a great season for Harden. Based on your same reasoning you’d have to say Embiid didn’t have a great season and yet he was MVP of the league. Even if you want to say Embiid doesn’t win MVP if the whole season is taken into account including playoffs, he still lands inside the top 3 vote getters. That’s a great season. I don’t know why would lean so heavily on the team result when assessing what an asset is when the desire in even doing the assessment is to project where he fits on your team not his most recent team.I'd say that a disappointing playoff performance and a 2nd round exit when you were brought in to at least get to the finals is not a great season.
