It's called the salary cap.....LOL.
This surprises me, because usually Harden never has a constant stream of bitches about perceived slights.

I think this is it.Face it. Teams are going to be wary of trading for Harden. And not going top offer too much.
Yep.I think this is it.
Harden thought he would get a lucrative deal in the FA market if he opted out.
He misread the situation. Nobody wants to give him 4/200+.
Pretty obvious that Harden tried to use HOU to get PHI to pony up some dough.
Morey called his bluff.
And here we are.
Yes and no.Yep.
And if you're Morey you take what you can get because if you bring him back.....it could go really bad.
What is Harden going to do, show up 20 pounds overweight and not put in any effort? Yeah right, he is a pros proYep.
And if you're Morey you take what you can get because if you bring him back.....it could go really bad.
Definitely not getting that package but as of right now, you are right. Philly doesn’t have to trade him but it would be wise if Harden feels this upset. You don’t want him going into the season. In that case, the return won’t be as good. Regardless, they aren’t get Hart, Quickly and Toppin-let alone 2 1st’sThey don’t have to do anything. You’re not seeing this clearly at all. You have to present the Sixers something worth them trading Harden. We already did this with Ben Simmons. No one expected Morey to get a piece like Harden for that asset.
This isn’t the Houston Harden or Nets Harden situation. They had to trade him because he quit. He can’t afford to do that a 3rd time when he’s on the last year of his deal. Additionally, with his future unknown because of that running it back with the Sixers may be looked back upon as his last legit opportunity to compete for a ring.
If they hold on to Harden it makes sense to hold on to Tobias Harris. That’s 74 million off the cap next year. That gives the Sixers 35 million (roughly as we don’t know the 24-25 cap yet) of space for next season with a better free agent crop than this year.
Dolans. They’re desperate and throughout their ownership they’ve made trade mistakes for stars. Last year, they held fast and they didn’t get Mitchell despite the fact that they were linked to him all summer. No chance NY trades you Hart, Quickley, Toppin, Hartenstein and 2 1st rounders for a guy who could be a rental.
Why am I “could be releasing” 17 million of the value coming back on a guy that I didn’t have to trade?!?!? They don’t have to dump Harden. You totally don’t see this at all.If you got Fournier, Hart, and Hartenstein plus a 1st rounder that is not too bad. Fournier is expiring and could be released (if you do not use him as depth off the bench) and you get a backup big in Hartestein and Hart. Hart would start next to Maxey and is a baller. Plus, NY includes a 1st or maaaaaaaaybe 2. Since they have a treasure trove of draft picks.
Then he plays out the year as a Sixer and the Sixers get the cap relief next summer. Sixers order of operations now with this development should be prioritizing trading Harden and only after he is out do you trade Tobias Harris. Ideally you want at least one if not 2 firsts for a Harris deal package.Face it. Teams are going to be wary of trading for Harden. And not going top offer too much.
All us Philly fans can hope for is that there are at least two teams with GMs/coaches who think they can 'unlock' Harden and get a decent return for Harden.Definitely not getting that package but as of right now, you are right. Philly doesn’t have to trade him but it would be wise it Harden feels this upset. You don’t want him going to into the season. In that case, the return won’t be as good. You don’t understand how Harden is incentivized to be a good teammate here and give everything. He’s finding out now his value isn’t what he thought it was. You think his response to that is going to be to pout more? Lazy lazy take on your part.Yep.
And if you're Morey you take what you can get because if you bring him back.....it could go really bad.
Harden has not done well in “prove it” situations. He has had a lot of them.Yes and no.
Can't hamstring the team because Harden pouts.
I'd rather they just sit his ass and not release him.
There's also the possibility that Nurse convinces Harden that he can design a system that takes advantage of the skillz he has.
A 1 year prove it deal, that could lead to Harden getting a bigger contract in FA in 2024.
And y'all thought I was crazy when I said 4/100.........
He’s not. But he’s incentivized to go play well in this dynamic. What is Harden going to do, show up 20 pounds overweight and not put in any effort? Yeah right, he is a pros pro
20 and 10 last year. 2 40 point playoff games tells a different story. His playoff inconsistency and overall fit with Embiid is why he isn’t getting a long term commitment.Harden has not done well in “prove it” situations. He has had a lot of them.
No, it is all of it. Sure he had a couple good games, which actually was unusual by his normal playoff standards. You were seeing the light on him after the playoffs last year, don’t go pivoting on him now just because you may be stuck with him. I think he’s going to be a one year rental for someone and they aren’t going to have to give much.20 and 10 last year. 2 40 point playoff games tells a different story. Morey will get better than this Fournier slop or he just holds on to Harden.
Morey is going to end up winning this deal in the end. It’s more likely to go into the season than it is to get worked out now in my opinion. Everyone said he had to trade Simmons. It played out with Simmons actions being what everyone predicted and what drove them to say Morey has to deal him. They were a man down. Simmons was a distraction. He still held out and won the deal. The Sixers hold all the cards right now with this decision for Harden to opt back in. That was the real battle and the Sixers won.Definitely not getting that package but as of right now, you are right. Philly doesn’t have to trade him but it would be wise if Harden feels this upset. If we dump him, I only want back picks and players on expiring contracts, which means no players like Powell.
Otherwise......
