I think they take Michkov if Leonard and Reinbacher are both gone. If one of them is still there, I think they take them over michkov.

I thought i read somewhere that michkov wont be ready to play in the NHL for 3 years. Hopefully its a bluff to get Washington who really wants him to give us a pick to swap 7th for 8th.

Who do you like at 22?

Here we fucking go. Fuck me!! This kid supposedly wanted Philadelphia and wants to win Cups. He better fucking walk the talk.

As soon as Phoenix took Simashev, I figured we would take Michkov. So, I am frustrated, but not surprised.

I suppose we're trying to hit a grand slam with this pick, but if he does stay in Russia for the next 3 years or longer, this is really going to suck.

This is a full rebuild as it should be. I have no problem waiting for him for 3 years. We need to be patient and strip this down and start back up. With this pick and Cutter definitely 2 pieces to look forward to moving forward

This pick at #7 tells me that we're not looking to be a competitive team for a long, long time.

Fucking trade everyone away who isn't 23-24 or younger. I'm obviously exaggerating some. You need to keep the right vets around to help build the culture and teach the youngsters. The point is, nobody on the team is really untouchable right now unless we just recently drafted them.

Leonard was still available and we took Michkov anyway...Lol

Amazing that the Yotes took two Russians in the top 12 and neither of them was Michkov.

We took Oliver Bonk 22nd overall, son of former-Nhler Radek Bonk. He's a RHD, 6'2" 180 lbs, smart, mobile, two-way defenseman with crisp passing and offensive potential. His floor is apparently as a solid, second pairing defenseman with room to grow offensively.

I like this pick as well. Great job by Briere getting another pick in the first round

I do like this pick, but we sure as hell swung for the fences with Michkov. It could pay off big time, but when? Also, we didn't pick a center, which is a little surprising. Who are our top two centers after the rebuild!? Are they even part of the franchise yet? That has to be a major concern.

Furthermore, who is going to be our stud defensively? I don't think we have that player yet either.

I’m pissed
It will be just as if he went to Boston College for 2 years like Gauthier. I know hes signed for 3 years but i believe we will buy out his 3rd year and he starts playing for us in his third year.

Bonk is among the highest-ranked defensemen of this year’s draft class. The Athletic’s Corey Pronman ranked Bonk at No. 26 on his list of the top 142 prospects, Wheeler has him ranked No. 44 on his list of 100 prospects and NHL Central Scouting has him at No. 20 on their final ranking of North American skaters.

Lets just hope Danny B is a better drafter than a trader as that return for Kevin Hayes terrible. :tsk:
As long as the roster spot/playing time goes to one of the young guys, I can live with dumping a very bad contract. Hayes had 54 points but only 9 points in the last 30 games. He had nothing after the all star break.

Im not saying we shouldn't have traded him I'm saying it was a terrible trade. Definitely could've gotten more for Hayes if we were eating half his salary. Getting next to nothing isn't a salary dump its charity.

Hayes is pretty much washed as a player
I cant see a lot of teams interested in him, especially with his ticket

Just got to grin and bear it and move forward

Just a reminder how horrible the front office has been the last 10 years

Again I am happy we traded him and glad he's gone.
I will be happy to grin and bear it but the fact still remains the return for him was horrible.

Reilly Smith from Vegas makes 5 million had 56 points brought a 3rd rounder back from Pitt.
Hayes a year younger 54 points 3.5 million salary (us eating the other half) brought back a 6th rounder
