He deserves credit for recognizing that new voices needed to be in the conversation.
Looks like JD brought in quite a bit of talent coaching, consultants CY and players

Never thought the owners would sink that amount of cash this off-season

Patton came in and look'd a little sharper than last outting. All in all, pitching was fine today.

9th best minor leagues now and our youngsters have been helping us win ( granted games are meaningless) in spring training.

Another infielder? We need some stud outfield prospects.

A lot of people still adhere to the "draft the best player regardless of need" theory.

That is true however other thought is to make sure you don’t waste a too 5 pick like Tate pick. Needed less risk
Rangers reversed course with Jung pick and Leiter looks like a win contrasting with potential Meyer pick but he is still has some risk.
He really needs to pan out

If a high school middle infielder is the best player without a doubt, then take him. It will take a high school kid 4 or 5 years most likely to make it all the way through the system. We may not be awash in those type ayers by then.

Ideally, Druw Jones, Chase DeLauter, or Elijah Green is the best player available st #3.

If we do convert some of our infield prospects to outfielders we may suddenly not have a need for outfield prospects any time soon.

I should mention that I think it's outdated. If you're at #1 and there's a "generational" talent available, then yes you pick that regardless. But if you're at #3 and the talent at 1-5 is comparable, then you pick a player at a position of need.

I do think the two best players were taken with the top two picks last year. I think five years from now it will be apparent that Davis and Leiter are definitely the two best players who were drafted in 2021. If Leiter had already been taken i would have been thrilled with Davis. I don't think I would have felt that way about anyone else.

Yet Mayer is the higher ranking prospect but IMO not with topside of your two but probably less risk

Miller at LO is certainly a choice
Yes it is. Wonder If Willie at his best is an option
Good OBP and bat contact and speed is ideal back in the day for LO
So Culbertson is out there and now Trevino too
Just wondering how our catcher situation pans out

I do think the Rangers will be platooning players more than usual this year

He is the top prospect because MLB Pipeline overrates SS prospects on a regular basis. They aren't the only ones though.

I would perfer a dh that can play good defense if called upon. Willie doesn't fit the bill.
