So far, there haven’t been many/any FAs that signed elsewhere that I feel “Dang, I wish WE had that guy at that price and years”.
There have been many deals this offseason that I've found puzzling (in terms of years and/or dollars given).

I think Stroman and Taylor were good fits for us at the price they signed for. Apparently, Taylor wanted to remain a phuking dog hair though.

I haven’t seen what Stroman signed for ($$ or years), but I thought he would have been a great fit.

That’s a lot of coin, but essentially just a 2/50. I think I would have been OK with that. Slotting him in at #2 would have really solidified the rotation.
Considering who is left on the market, I do wonder if the Giants will fill that rotation spot with a trade. Consider who would be, arguably, the top 10 remaining free agent starters:
Carlos Rodon, Clayton Kershaw, Danny Duffy, Matthew Boyd, Wily Peralta, Kwang-Hyun Kim, Michael Pineda, Johnny Cueto, Yusei Kikuchi, Zach Greinke

Imagine the shitshow we would be in had Webb not developed into an ace, essentially out of nowhere?

Call me a pessimist but I wouldn't be surprised if Webb takes a step or two back. I thought he was better than his 2020 showing and was excited about how he did in 2021 but a little surprised at how well he did. If he does have a rough road of things in 2022, how he adjusts could just make him better long term.

Don’t hit me, but I kinda want Kershaw if it’s a short term contract (like 2 years).

That is absolutely a possibility. The league will adjust to him and he will need to readjust back (rinse and repeat). So far, he has put together about 4 months worth of Bumgarner-like performance. That is great. It LOOKS real, but he will need to build on that (and improve) to have any extended success at the MLB level.

Of the FA pitchers left, I'm intrigued by Rodon. High upside/high risk but should be gettable on a short contract. That said, I could see a trade with the Reds or A'ss too.

FWIW, Reyes Moronta is pitching in the Mexican League and dominating. He's a FA.

I'm good with Rodon, on the right deal.

I'd like to see Moronta come back with an invitation to spring training. Since he's a minor league free agent, I believe the Giants can still sign him during the freeze (if I'm understanding the rules correctly, only "big league" free agents are prohibited from contact with clubs).

I agree that keeping Bryant is not likely. And I am OK with that.

But we still have approx 100m that we CAN spend, so I don’t see money as an obstacle in getting Suzuki. If FZ likes him, and he is open to coming to SF, I don’t see us NOT getting him. However, if he wants to play for Team X instead, there really isn’t anything we can do about that. That said, I know next to nothing about Suzuki. Maybe FZ is only lukewarm on him, so he isn’t willing to over pay for him. If that is the case, I bow to his judgement.

The news changes almost daily, but today’s rankings seem to have us in the pole position to get Suzuki.
