90 degrees, humid. How many other teams in the NFL would be making DBs wear mittens?? Great idea. Can't grab the WR and they can't rip out a ball. Might be something to do for the entire camp. Could help them all from grabbing a shirt or hooking a WR from behind.

Zappe should have run a lap or two after allowing an INT to a defender with mittens on.

I suspect a lot of teams have DBs wear mittens

The only thing I can find is that the Cleveland Browns wore boxing gloves in 2014 to prevent defensive holding by the DBs because the league warned of a serious crackdown on WRs being held.

I heard that the Browns wore boxing gloves to try to look tough!

So you suggest we draft tall WR's that can't get seperation?
Nope, just WR that are taller than the fake grass and can get separation.

It's going to be really hard for him to go against the DBs in this league. most of them are near 6' and have a vertical jump of at least 32" Mac would have to throw him a lower pass that would be much more available to a DB. Hey, I'm more than willing to see if he can compete in camp and then see what he can do in preseason. If he has Tyreek Hill speed and hands, I'm all in. If he doesn't, I'm out.

At 5'9" and 180#, it will take a miracle for him to get a spot. Way too easy for a guy that small to get lost amongst the trees.
I agree and so does Wes Welker who worked extremely hard to get from 180# to 185#, which made all the difference in the world.

I don't disagree. The league has changed in the past 12-14 years and small guys are an anomaly. Unless they have something unique to offer, they just can make it. There will always be exceptions to any position. Height and body size are difficult to overcome.

How many 6'0" 250# OL are there in the league today? None.

Tommy McDonald is the shortest WR to be inducted into the NFL HOF. He was 5'7". Drafted in 1957 and played for 11 seasons in the NFL with Eagles, Cowboys, Rams, Falcons and Browns.

He was exceptional and made the Pro-Bowl five consecutive years. He had huge hands that were football magnets.

There are still exceptions in the NFL today, but they are becoming fewer and fewer..

Good is good.

I wasn't implying 5'9 was the ideal height. Through the years: Brown - 5'10"; Kevin Faulk - 5'8"; David Patten 5'10"; Deon Branch - 5'9"; Wes Welker - 5'9"; Danny Woodhead - 5'9"; Julian Edelman - 5'11"; Danny Amendola - 5'10".

Good is Good. Did something change the moment Amendola retired?

They've been in shorts for four days.

Real practice starts tomorrow in full pads.

Pats get to practice against themselves until the 15th when they spend four days with the Panthers and then play. Then they get four days against Josh and the Raiders before they play them.

Giants next week should be a good team to get the bugs out of the offense.

Well I am sure there wouldn't be a lot of write ups on it, seems to me it would be pretty common place

Why do I fear that the secondary, specifically the CB's, is going to be a serious weak point?
I'm sure by now you reallize, the annual tradition of disrespecting everything the Patriots do is blind!
