All bullshit aside...

If this guy shot league average from 3, and stayed healthy, he'd be the GOAT.

You couldn't build a better all around player.

Physically, yes.

It is more than shooting though. He is closer to Russ than LeBron in terms of decision making with the ball.

He is just a much better version.

To be GOAT I think he would need to get better at reading defenses and distributing the ball too.

Settled on 2 and they were delicious.

Damn. I missed seeing this the other day but NBA writer/podcaster Jonathan Tjarks has cancer. He does great work. Praying for the best.

Powerful piece by NBA writer/podcaster Johnathan Tjarks, who is battling cancer

A sad update. Jonathan Tjarks passed away.

I'd beware the comparisons to Daugherty though. Don't put that bad juju on the kid....
LOL.

Daugherty was a really good player but a back injury derailed his career, he retired, and went into Nascar as an announcer.

Gotta say that's a damn good point.

Wasn't even thinking about BD's back problems that ended his career.

I just made the comparison because both are/were low post players.

Nash was a good player but his back injury detailed his career at the end...

Larry Bird was a Great player but his back injury derailed his career at the end.....

Larry Johnson was a good player but his back injury derailed his career....

Lets not act like Brad played a flash in the pan 2 Seasons.

He put up 19 and 10 over 8 years and 546 games.

Without that chip, that's not far off from Davis with 23 and 10 over 604.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

But, hasn't Davis been in the NBA longer?

Like, 2 years longer. But, only 60 more games?

Davis is considered a top 75 guy.

So, even as a lesser player, lets not act like a healthy Daughtery comparison is a insult.

He's not Greg Oden.

Brad was good for nearly a decade.

I hear people comparing every up and coming athletic guard to Westbrook or D Rose.

Rose's career was derailed by chronic injuries.

Westbrook's was derailed by mental midgetry.

Yet, the comparisons persist.

I think that is a little unfair to Russ.

He has had a fantastic career by any reasonable standard.

Just looking more and more like an Allen Iverson style ending.

And he was never as good as most thought he was at his peak.

That is also Iverson style

I actually think Iverson and Russ are a fair comparison.

They were both great one man bands.

Could not, or would not, play well in the sandbox with other high level players.

Actually, if it's unfair to anyone , it's Iverson.

He never played with a Durant, Harden or even George level talent.

What's the closest he got, Melo?

By then, Allen was near cooked.

I'm not taking anything away from Westbrook as a MVP nor Allstar.

But, his stats are empty calories at this point.

I honestly don’t see how Davis can be considered a top 75 guy, injuries or not.
