Heard that some guy named Kyrie will be available. He's supposed to be pretty decent.

He may be a little "touched in the head" though.
Even with AD and James.....we are close to 100 mill, Mecca pointed out that their contract calls for them to get a % of the salary cap.

Salary cap is expected to be 133-138mill or so. Can't afford a max for him.

True. Bog and Beas give us the shooting we'd need.

And the Lakers could decline Beasley's 16 mill team option. Are there better options in FA than Beas? He is a shooter and scorer we'd need if Bog walks next summer.....Beasley is a little better version of Monk.
Trent Jr. > Beasley

If for nothing more than he didn't bang a future teammates mother and doesn't have any convictions for pulling assault rifles on people.

No one wanted to trade anything for him. I'd be surprised if anyone is willing to pay him a max deal.

He may well have crazied himself right into the Lakers price range.

Depends on what he does this year.

If he has a great year, and a great attitude...that changes.

So, I said all that to say....probably... Lol

Okay.....so we're trading two 1st rounders to rent Bog, Beasley (declining his option) and Gay (trade him) or Alexander-Walker (expiring).

And then the ability to sign Irving. I'm good with that.

He may be a little "touched in the head" though.

After giving this no thought at all I've figured out what one of Kyrie's many problems are. To recap his career first.

He liked Cleveland then didn't and wanted out.

Got to Boston and liked it. Then of course the issues started.

Then he gets to Brooklyn and between being an anti-vaxxer and needing some me time to clear his head missed alotta games.

What's the common connection here? All three places have bad winters.

I'm trying to think but it ain't working. So I'm thinkin' if Kyrie can get to a city that doesn't have bad winters, pretty sure L.A. doesn't have really bad winters but I'm not sure, there should be no reason for Kyrie to Kyrie. In nice weather I can see him becoming the perfect teammate.

Hey man happy Fried Day.

And if they can't get Kyrie and are happy with Bog, they may be able to re-sign Bog and add some depth or go after another FA.

It's not a bad plan.

Obviously, you don't renounce those guys until you know Kyrie is coming.

If he does?

Fuck those picks.

If he doesn't?

You have two usable , contributing players that you can retain with bird rights.

But, you need to stop fucking around.

4 teams are in on Bog.

The Suns are definitely offering a 1st.

I believe Dallas is too.

If I were betting, the Lakers pick should be more valuable because you are way more likely to suck come 2027.

You have to remember: The Jazz are less than 2 mil below the tax line.

So, you are going to have to eat matching salary.

Hemming and hawing, squabbling over picks or taking back Gay could leave you fucked.

Better than last year is a pretty low bar.
Better than last year is where they have to start if they are going into the season WITH Westbrook on the roster. The Lakers are a shit-storm right now and Ham is going to have to rebuild his roster to get everyone on the same page. Better than last year is a logical place to start that process.

True.

Bog will be 34 next April....
So?

Give him a 2 year deal not 4.

Problem solved.

Give me a 34 year old productive 18ppg guy over a chronically broken 26 year old with foot problems everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Fuck Indy, let's just get a deal done with trader Danny.....like Mecca said.....even if we gotta take back Gay.....we might be able to flip him.....his contract is just 6.5 mill anyway.

Yeah a second or two can dump that

One item is nearly becoming fact with the Lakers and that is they will go into the season with Westbrook on their roster. As Mamba-DJ and others have posted, the Lakers can always re-visit trades early into the season and up-to-and-including the trade deadline to move Westbrook.
