Yep. If the Nets are willing to do RW, THT and the 1st's for Irving and Harris, you do it.

Us wanting Curry because he's cheaper and expiring is just being greedy.
They don't want THT.

They aren't paying 70 mil in luxury tax for THT.

That is why they want you to eat Harris just to take Westbrick.

Why? Do you think Barnes is ever going to be a top 5 player? Toronto is FA hell. It’s a whole other country and players in these tax brackets make less than the Canadian government on their deals. Barnes going out means they keep the ready now pieces of FVV and Siakam. If Barnes is included they may even be able to keep one of Trent or OG. The organic rebuild will never net Toronto a title. Barnes is a great young player. I love him. But in my eyes he projects to be more Pippen than a Jordan. He could be a top 20-30 player. Not a top 5 guy.
BOOM.

But, to make salaries work.....OG and Trent have to be included.

Masai knows what’s up. He understands the Toronto situation. He is building for the Kawhi (and now KD) moment so that they can strike. The star is the final piece in the order of operations for Toronto. They learned this with Bosh. They can build around Barnes and never see that opportunity and they run the risk of Barnes going Bosh when it’s his turn anyway.
Like I said, it all depends on what they give up. Giving up OG, Barnes and Trent + picks. I am taking a handful of teams over them in the east and west.

Some what agree.

But, Kawhi was cheap in comparison to what it takes to get Durant.

Like, the Suns are a Durant away from a title if they keep both Paul and Book.

They'd be giving up picks and role players.

The Raps would be giving up at least Siakam and OG.

Would they be a Durant shaped hole away from a title?

They should totally kick the tires.

They should not give away the farm and Scottie really shouldn't be involved.

It's insane to think this way about a rookie.

But, I'd rather keep him over Siakam and I love Pascal.

No way the Raps give up Siakam, it'd be Trent, OG and Barnes plus picks.

KD, Siakam, and Van Vleet is a damn good trio. If healthy.

Depends who goes out. FVV Siakam and KD and what remains of their 6’8’’ wings after Barnes Trent and OG go with picks could be considered a contender for me if all of the key pieces remain healthy.
Who would they leap?

Boston, Heat, 76ers, Bucks...

LOL.

Lowry is close to being done, Duncan well he couldn't get off the bench in the playoffs.....it'd be basically Herro and Lowry plus picks for KD?

Toronto could offer a better package.

If they want Durant they would.

This is Masai.

Sentimentality means dick to him.

Derozan was the guy.

He didn't blink twice in upgrading the roster with Kawhi.

Siakam is good.

But, the gap between him and KD is comparable to the gap in talent between Demar and Kawhi.

Age is the only difference.

A ton of teams could offer better packages
BK would have to move Simmons and I doubt they do until next summer.....Miami would then offer Bam, Duncan, and Herro. I could see BK going for that plus future picks.....but teams are going to want to see Simmons play first before trading for him.

So Siakam and OG plus picks for KD?

KD, Van Vleet, Trent and Barnes plus co is even worse in the EC than the trade I proposed. Unless, you think Barnes takes a huge ass leap next season.

The Raps would need a good role player back if they giving up Siakam and OG plus the needed picks to make it happen.

I think you misunderstood my argument.

I'm saying it would take 2 of Siakam/Scottie/OG to get him.

I am also saying the trade does not make them a serious contender.

They would still be behind Philly, Heat, Bucks , Celtics.

As for Barnes, his numbers would improve with less offensive options on the roster.

Not sure about a big leap though.

OG and Trent works under the salary cap rules....OG and Barnes doesn't.

And I think Siakam is untouchable. He's their best player. The Raps will want KD and Siakam to go along with VV.

Nick sucks LeBron off more than Shannon Sharpe.

But, he's probably right.

Maybe Dallas.

.......and that's a huge MAYBE because they'd actually be better off with Dragic, who won't cry about taking a back seat to Luka.

Plus, they have Dinwiddie.

Off topic....

If Westbrook does get traded, if he's bought out or finishes the Season on that roster....

What team does he go to after?

I can't think of a single team.

Maybe the Knicks when Rose takes his yearly stint on the I.R?
