Marks need to have Simmons work out is why I’m hopeful that the Sixers can be a facilitator in a trade for KD. I don’t think anyone is giving back two All Stars for KD. That likely strips a team of the whole reason KD would want to go there and KD doesn’t go or wants to sit out. Marks gets his picks from the team winning the KD sweepstakes. But their depth players (like Mikal Bridges) go to the Sixers and the Sixers send out Harris. Morey should be on the phone with Marks every day floating this possibility with Tobias. The analytics for both guys show that the best basketball both have played over the last 3 years have come with them sharing the court with the other guy. They have good chemistry. Marks needs to unlock Ben. That familiarity for a head case like Ben makes this move even more important. Shit, somebody get me Marks phone number so I can sell him on this.

Would be great but that’s not what I’m saying. Sixers don’t have the draft capital the Nets would need to get this done. That’s why I’m saying they need to understand that and instead when others are trying to get KD, the Sixers get in there with Morey using his friendship with Marks in this way:
1. Convince Marks he wants to send KD West and out of the East
2. Help facilitate that with Harris
3. Remind him that his career rests on Simmons working out and of all the players out there to do that Harris is the guy to do it.

He has to take steps as a finisher though for this to be realized. Ben Simmons best position is as a PG. He’s a taller, better defending version of Rajon Rondo.
