@tlance

I have not seen you comment on Beal yet.

What do you think of re-signing your franchise player to the 5 year 250 million dollar contract?

I think it is a perfect Wizards move.

They should have traded him while they could.

Now they are a mediocre team with a good, not great player on a massive contract that will be an albatross in 2 years.

I think the team should be top 10 in the East if healthy, so I don’t expect a Beal trade in season. But best case IMO is if the team starts of slow and trades him at the deadline while it is still possible.

So much for the W's paying and keeping all them.

Good for him, he has busted his ass to turn into a good player.

Like I said.

Payton costs 40 million for the Warriors to keep. It isn't logical to pay that dude that kind of money with that sort of financial ramifications.

I will be curious what happens with Looney also

I think Looney will be viewed as more of a priority.

If not, then all the talk of the Warriors limitless spending is wrong.

Yeah this Beal contract has John Wall written all over it. They absolutely should have traded when they had the chance.

Just read that Book and Towns have the same agent. The first woman agent to land a max deal for her player and she bags two bags. That’s 448 million of contract. What do sports agents get? Is it like 10% of the contract? If so she made 44.8 million last night. Hell of a job by her.

So the Sixers are hard capped right now by virtue of the Tucker House and Queen signings. Can someone explain to me what that means going forward for them?

We will see. Not a lot of teams with cap space left so they may be able to get him on the "cheap" but again it's a 4 for 1 deal for every player they sign.

geez...is he that much of an asshole that really no one wants him beside the Lakers?

I mean- the talent is mesmerizing but holy shit...hes on an expiring deal. Its hard for me to believe he is that much of a cancer no one will give up anything of value for him- but then again- he basically destroyed the Nets from the inside.

The same can be said for Westbrook, and he shows up and plays hard everyday and is a great person with the community. As cap relief for a non-contending team, he should be an ideal candidate.

This doesn’t make sense.

They are better off dealing him for Westbrook and picks.

Then you can waive and stretch Westbrook if you want.

Depends on their intent. Sure, you get the picks (and they need to recoup a lot of them between Kyrie and KD due to that Harden trade), but by buying him out, he still likely ends up with the Lakers, but they limit the Lakers' ability to extend him next season. Depends on how petty they want to be.
