Torts is def going to change the environment and thus the culture of the past bevy of numbnuts Comcast drug in. That may the difference in the short and long-term results. If the result at the end of the year is mid-pack, then it is a stepping stone to bigger things in Year 3 and 4 as long as Tortorella continues. One of the factors for building a Championship foundation is the CHANGING of the culture or mental approach to the games and Tortorella is doing just that despite WTFC's lame attempts to claim any successes and long-term goals was his idea from the getgo.

No more is the “country club” feel to the locker room as Cam Atkinson called it. Instead, the Flyers are more motivated than ever. “We’ve got a bunch of guys who work hard and we might not be the prettiest team, but if you don’t work hard, you don’t play,” said Kevin Hayes. “Everyone’s working really hard and it starts in practice, it starts in camp… it’s hard, but it’s a lot more fun when you win.”

So, who are/were the top 5 contributors to the “country club” atmosphere ?

Tonight should be interesting. Tampa has us beat man to man at literally every single position except left wing where we have Laughton, JvR and Farabee. They have us in net too if Vasilevskiy gets the start.

As underwhelming as Risto has been, look at how poorly our 3rd defensive pairing is doing to date. They could definitely get exposed tonight.

Preview: Flyers visit Lightning with unthinkable hope to remain perfect

Only one person had a "C" on his chest.
But others either accepted it / went along / or reinforced it. Does the Coaching staff have a contributing influence ?

I’m just asking, not disagreeing with you.

The magic continues as we steal a win from a team that we had lost 10 straight games to in Tampa. After spotting them a two goal lead with power play goals from Stamkos, Laughton gets one midway through the 2nd and then I thought we dominated the 3rd via a power play tip from JvR and what would be the game winner from Noah Cates with about 7 minutes remaining.

I believe I mentioned above that we needed scoring from other guys. JvR and N. Cates were two of them and they delivered in the clutch tonight. Also, the third defensive pairing was a lot better, despite Point nearly scoring on them early in the 1st.

Three comeback victories in three games and I believe they said we were last in the Nhl with nine ALL of last season. Idk what more there is to say. This team has just come together very quickly and we support each other pretty well all over the ice. It already makes you wonder what is to come when we get critical players like Couturier and Atkinson healthy.

This is the type of locker room jargon that keeps you in the middle of the pack lol.

I'm not sure what you mean as the hustle is winning them games this year. I don't see a lot of lazy backchecking or forechecking. They used to promote relentless and this team is actually doing it in waves both ends of the ice. I've said it a million times that team D wins games and in the past there was no support or very little making the D and Hart look like hot garbage. We can only hope that it continues and the injured players come back hungry with the same attitude. If not I can see Torts benching them or even moving them out.

A 60 minute effort. The whole team is playing with intensity. Not sure how far into the season they can keep it up, but enjoy it while we can.

Yep, impressive W last night. Of course the 10 minutes I watch were the 10 minutes where Tampa scored both goals

But you're spot on with the comeback victories. Previous teams folded up shop after going down 2. Coming back from 2 down to the Bolts is a solid performance.

Zero wins last year when 2 goals down. Only team to accomplish this dubious feat.

We’ll have fun watching while it lasts.

We are plain and simple "hard to play against". I forget if it was Torts or Fletcher or both who quoted that.
