Hahahaha. Im not saying he will last 4 years but if he does i am holding you to this.
Lol, please do. If he's around in year 4 we'll be feeling much better about the team than we are today. I'll be glad to do it!

I'll eat your socks if he's here in 4 years. The rebuild for this team is a long way off unless you can land a McKinnon or a McDavid. Even then we're so many pieces away

We could challenge the 2013-14 Buffalo Sabres for the worst offensive output during a full regular season in the last 20 years. That was 157 goals in 82 games, which is 1.91 goals per game.5 goals scored so far in 5 preseason games. This forward group could redefine anemic this season.
We were 31st in the league in goals last season and we hired a defensive minded coach so this shouldn't be a surprise.5 goals scored so far in 5 preseason games. This forward group could redefine anemic this season.
It is boring hockey to watch but if it helps us be a better team going forward I'm all for it. We had the second least goals with the great Giroux on our team last year so now he's gone, Couts and Farabee are out new defensive system so it will be a lot of boring hard checking and muck it up kind of hockey until we can add more skill.I pretty sure Torts knows he has an anemic offense but championships building begins with defense and that is where he is building. I suspect he will stress defense until he can get more offensive help. So the mid-pack forecast is probably pretty close to reality for this year and I suspect we fans will like the defensive product that is now on display in the Preseason.
This is all true... As long as we don't continue to look like a pick-up street hockey crew I will concede that is progress. Tortellini can only be judged on how his team performs vs. the talent he has. Vegas still has Flyers at 74 for points O/U. That will be the bar to judge this year IMHOYea lasgop. By definition, foundations are boring but everyone knows when one is constructing a building of any kind, without a great foundation the rest of the building is a joke.
We only had 61 last year so 74 is more than i figure them to have this season. I dont want to bet against us or i would wager a couple of sheckels on the under. This is all true... Great idea... maybe there's another Hayes or JvR out there we could get...... and toss in a few draft picks as well.Travis Sanheim Could Become A Trade Chip for the Philadelphia Flyers
