I was referring to Coots going from 'ahead of schedule' to out for 2-3 months maybe the whole year.I realize our medical staff is very sub par but IMO we traded for damaged goods and that's why we got him so cheap.

i agree with this but if some team trades for him we will have to sweeten the pot with at the very least a first rounder which we cannot afford to do. We are in between a rock and a hard place as per usual.Great trade all around. Looks like Patrick is out for the year also. Myers played 27 games for Nashville and is now on the Lightning. Our problem is the $6.25 cap hit for the next 5 years. Yes, he can go on LTIR, but there is some great benefit (no idea what it is) by waiting until the season starts. The only hope is that some team under the cap floor trades for the cap hit. See the Chris Pronger trade. We would have to throw in another high pick. Looks like we could be out of cap hell in 2026!
This is typical of our medical staff for a long time now. I wish someone would realize this.I was referring to Coots going from 'ahead of schedule' to out for 2-3 months maybe the whole year.

With all the mystery surrounding the Ellis injury as to how long he will be out or if he was coming back at all and now the Couts injury mystery it seems like we didnt upgrade much in the performance and wellness area much. They did overhaul it this year.
"The Flyers announced three new additions to their hockey operations staff late Wednesday evening, hiring Tommy Alva as head athletic trainer, Jeff Taylor as physical therapist/rehab coordinator, and Gavin McClelland as data engineer, according to a team release."
That's in addition to Ian McKeown as VP of Athlete Performance and Wellness. Which I think is a new position.
Flyers to retain Jim McCrossin amid lawsuit, announce three new hockey operations hires
McCrossin, who is currently suing Comcast Spectacor in relation to his cancer diagnosis, will have a new title with the Flyers next season.www.inquirer.com
It seems like we are a mess in all areas of the game right now.The damage has been widespread and has already been done. The new medical staff will have to clean-up the mess and its a big one.
So who's supposed to be number 1 in next years draft?
Won't get any better this season, or next if Fletcher is still around. It seems like we are a mess in all areas of the game right now.

He should be gone by seasons end. I originally felt bad for him because he was in a lose lose situation because Hextal screwed up the organization so bad but now i dont feel bad because he hasn't really done anything to make us better.Won't get any better this season, or next if Fletcher is still around.
Im surprised we weren't 1 through 4 .4 biggest head-scratchers from NHL offseason
The NHL produced no shortage of action this past offseason. While there are many angles to break down and events to analyze, we're going to focus on the moves that left us asking one simple question: "Why?"Flyers confuse everybody Bruce Bennett / Getty Images Sport / GettyIf there's one team...www.thescore.com
Thought that just maybe, Flyers wouldn’t make the list - silly me.
So far 0 loses in three games. We are the team to beat so far.Nice little win over the Bruins in the Preseason. Hopefully this becomes habit.
