Any thoughts what we can get for Tony D at the draft. He is so deep in Tort's doghouse, I don't see him playing another shift for the Flyers (now see if he plays tonight).

Something real odd must've happened there. All of a sudden he's getting healthy scratched when the Flyers only have 5 other healthy d-men? Strange.

Ghost got a 3rd at the deadline. I would think that's the absolute max for Deangelo. He had a pretty rough year and getting so deep in Torts' doghouse to end the year won't help his value. I think they'd be pretty lucky to get a 4th or 5th without salary retention. Just be happy to have someone take him.

If him and Torts can patch it up to get him back on the ice to start the year next year, then have a decent season and move him at the deadline, that's probably the best case for the Flyers in terms of assets.

Hopefully we can get a 2nd rounder. He did have 42 points in only 70 games. If he played 82 games he'd probably be top15 in defensive points. Id think some team could use him a PP specialists as well as a top 15 point getting defenseman.

Dreger reported last night that Briere will be the full-time GM. As expected by most of the Flyers beat writers.

Also said he'd be very active. Said everyone is up for discussion and that they'd be aggressive about trying to move up in the draft (should the lottery not do that for them).

I'm sure the extra 1st round pick in '24 is in play. We could package that with a prospect and lesser pick to either move up or pick again in the 1st this year.

I didn't see the game last night, but glad Konecny got his 30th goal (and 31st) and also somehow his 60th point. 61 points in 60 games this season and you could argue that he didn't have any help either. He's an absolute star right now and I'd even make the claim that he's underpaid at $5.5 million per. Hayes played in 21 more games, but had 7 fewer points (and was our only All-Star)...Lol

I know there will be talk of moving Konecny, but he's only 26 years old and if he plans on re-signing in a couple years, we should absolutely entertain that. Otherwise, he'll just be another player that we let go to win a Cup somewhere else.

If they get Bedard, I'd entertain keeping TK. Otherwise, I think they're too far away from competing. He'll be 28 and probably get 8M on the open market the summer of '25. I don't like how those numbers work out with his age and cap hit and how much work the Flyers have to do. I'd move him for a kings ransom this summer while a contending team can get that surplus value on a 5.5M cap hit.

If they want to be aggressive in the draft, they could look at retaining on TK and moving him to the Caps for #8, next years 1st, and whatever else they could get from them. Presumably the Caps want to try to take another run or two while OV is still there. a 3M, 80+ point guy, would be worth a ton to them.

Really, regardless of which team that's trying to contend you deal with, TK at 3M would be worth a boatload.

I mean...there's zero chance we would trade TK within the division. If we sell high on him this summer, fine, but we'd better get an absolute fucking haul for him. He arguably would've scored 90 points this season had he stayed healthy. 19 other players did that this season and among them, only RNH is locked into a lesser cap hit for multiple seasons. Stutzle and Thompson both start getting paid bigger dollars next season.

I still don't like the optics of trading TK. He fits the team perfectly and was really our only star player this season. So yeah, let's get rid of that guy...Lol

This falls under the category: "After the season bitch session". And no shit Sherlock for the author of this article. Briere has his work cut out for the Flyers this off-season.

It will be very interesting to see how Briere and Tortorella work together to continue to foster the progress (albeit small) that Torts got accomplished this season with a less than optimal roster. The more we wash this franchise free of Hextall's and WTFC's influences, the better. We may see results within that five-year plan everyone on here talked about at the beginning of the season.

Looks like the Pens discovered with the Flyers FO and especially the fans knew all along and have experienced with one Ron Hextall. Mr. Eff-up is at it again destroying yet another NHL franchise and he has been summarily fired from the Pens. Geez. Could not have happened to a more deserving douchebag.

The author of this article is an idiot. Its good that Briere is in a better position that Fletcher when he took over.

The "5 year plan" theory was a Hextalls plan from 2017. Its now going to be 7 years and we are still 5 years away.

Hopefully Danny B can create some magic and cut that number down.

I think there is a much clearer plan in place than before, hopefully between Briere and Torts, they can assess better hockey talent and make a couple of moves to improve.

I haven't had a chance to research anything yet, but is there any FA's on the market we'd be urged to pursue? We desperately need some kind of leader on the defensive side.

We need to purge this team and get draft picks or get good young players like Tippett back. No free agent is going to help us as we are at the very least 3 years away from contending for a playoff run.
