I figured any of the 4 teams on that list not named Columbus, would have tried to land him before this years playoffs. He'd be a great depth guy on any of them.
His production really tailed off badly in the second half of the season you were right about him all along.

He can be a borderline 2C and very good 3C. Problem is that he is paid like a 1C. I can't believe anyone would trade for him with his contract.

In the article it said we most likely will have to eat half of his salary. If that happens we will be paying for him to be another teams borderline 2C or very good 3C :L

He's paid like a really good 2C, which is also the level he was playing at when he made the All-Star team earlier this season. Right now though, he's playing like a below average or even bad 3C and obviously his salary/cap is still the same. Either way, he's definitely playing his way off of the team as we speak.

Looks like it's going to be hard to get below Arizona/Montreal, so lets just not get ahead of Vancouver!
I believe we're pretty much stuck in 7th right now unless Vancouver somehow loses out and we win a couple games. The bottom 6 teams are really losing a lot lately.

That home trip in which we won 5 of 6 pretty much blew any shot we had at drafting top 5 unless we against all odds win the lottery.

The good news is that it's only for 3 more years.

Does anyone know what Cutter Gauthier is doing since his team was knocked out of the NCAA a couple of weeks ago. Is he playing any type of hockey somewhere to improve?

Maybe taking some time off, I would assume the Flyers have some sort of off season workout camps these kids can attend, I know the Avs do

I don't understand why if you're just going to shit the bed the rest of the season, why bring Hart out just to get shelled? Kids had a great year on a shitty team, he definitely deserves better.

Sandstrom played yesterday and had to come in for Hart who was terrible against the islanders, Hart faced only 18 shots in 2 periods and let in 3. Hart was the problem the other night.

7 straight losses and we're still set to draft 7th overall....Lol

Ironically, our last two games are against the two worst teams in the Nhl, Chicago and Columbus, that are battling over last place and the best odds to draft Bedard #1 overall.

I'm thinking our losing streak is about to end...Lol

The good news is that if we win, we can't improve in the standings.

Dumb article. Why wouldn't we just trade him as opposed to buying him out?

Best value we have gotten out of any player in a decade or more.

Definitely up there. Simmonds and Couturier gave some serious value on their 3-4M contracts for a while. But those are the only 2 I can think of that would be in that conversation.

Ya, pretty silly. Buyout would be the 3rd option to just letting him play out his contract too, IMO. The Flyers don't need cap space in the short term. I'd rather waste 5M in cap space next year than use 1.667 in 2024-25.

But I would think they could shelter him next year, retain 50% at the deadline, and get a pretty decent asset for him. Teams do really dumb things at the deadline to acquire RHD. Gotta take advantage of that.
