The torts way is paying dividends late in the season. He may be the guy who single-handedly either directly or indirectly changed the culture of the Flyers for the future and for the better. His message has resonated well with the youngsters and Hart is playing with a sort of unrealized developmental destiny that def lead to a very good NHL net-minder. Since they got rid of WTFC and inserted Briere, the Flyers are continuing on the path that Torts instilled from the beginning. I am beginning to believe the future may be what we all have wanted for a very long time since Hextall single-handedly destroyed this team from its days of greatness.

I think if Torts had a reasonably healthy squad this year, we would've made the playoffs and he would be in the running for coach of the year. Even still, we're 10 points better than last season with 8 games left to play. That's without an entire top line and top defenseman for most of it. The win and point total should probably be higher too, except we're a ridiculous 1-12 in overtime this season. I mean, we could've just played defense for the whole OT and won more of those games in the shootout. Nobody in their right mind would say we didn't have more talent last season either. We had a lot more talent, but it was an uncompetitive, losing culture. I believe that it has already changed quite a bit in just this one season.

Any of you who watched the last game knows that this team will not be pushed around and will not fade away either, no matter the deficit. It's nice to dress a team that at least has some balls and can strike back to tie a game despite trailing by 3 goals in the 3rd period. That game was over and then it wasn't. Tough deal for Sandstrom in OT. If he makes a better play, we have an odd-man rush the other way and probably win it. Instead, he choked under the pressure, but he's got like 20 games of Nhl experience, so he will learn from it.

The overtime is just so fucking cutthroat and every little play is amplified. I feel like Giroux was/is a great overtime player and not having him definitely hurts. Also, guys like Konecny, Atkinson and Couturier would be out there every other shift too.

Here in a few hours we have a shot to take down our biggest rival on the road and at least for now lock them out of a playoff spot. How fucking tasty of a morsel is that!? It's enough for me to get a little excited, admittedly...Lol

I'm sure you'll all agree that if there's one fucking game we need to win for the entire fucking season, it is THIS ONE!!

How long ago did I predict this shit!? Lol

'Coots is aggravated and I love it' — Flyers hold back Couturier until next season

I would be fucking furious too if I were him. Dude hasn't been able to play in an Nhl game since October of 2021 and not in a truly meaningful game since September 5th of 2020. Uh, that's 2 years and 7 months since he's been in a playoff game and that was a 0-4 loss to the NYI. He's gotta be about as fucking hungry as anyone to get back at it.

I feel terrible for the guy. He's wasting the prime years of his career having surgery, rehabbing, getting shut down and then rinsing and repeating. All the while, he has to watch his team clearly struggle without him, in desperate need of everything he brings to the table.

Fuck, I would've brought him back a couple weeks ago just so that he could suit up today and lock down Malkin or Crosby one more fucking time, banishing them from the playoffs.

That's just the passionate, loyal fan in me speaking though.

"I just want to be a part of this rebuild from the ground up," Couturier said. "I just don't want to be the guy that's coming when everything's nice and things are going well. I want to go through the ups and downs and grow as a team and be a part of that."
"I think that's where you build character, you grow as a team. Sometimes adversity is good. It's been a while. I've had adversity off the ice, but on the ice, it's another thing. It's probably what I miss the most. I think it's just important to all grow as a team together. I just want to be a part of it."
"I would have just loved to get the opportunity to prove myself. It's been a long ride, a lot of ups and downs. Thought I'm feeling really good and finally over the hump. I just wished I could have gotten the opportunity to just prove myself and help the team."
-Sean Couturier

Do you fucking love this guy or do you fucking LOVE this guy!? Makes me want to go buy a #14 Couturier jersey with a fucking extra C on it right now. He's going to absolutely kill it next season, you just watch.

What a dirt bag if he is in fact the one who did it.

Well, you know it's not your day when the first goal scored is a puck that went off the high glass behind the net and bounced down off the back of your goalie and right into your fucking net...Lol Terrible luck for both Ersson and Sandstrom as of late.

So funny i tried to attach a story on trading options for Hayes and the story comes up blank on SportsHoopla:

Any way it said over the summer there are several places that may accept a trade for Hayes. The following teams were on the list:
Boston
Carolina
Columbus
Colorado
Dallas.
