Love the confidence. However, he's kind of stuck in such a crap situation. Cap is in bad shape, the team is terrible, but not terrible enough to get into a top five pick. It's a frustrating position to be in. I just hope this process isn't long term and Briere can fix the issues he was dealt with by the previous administration. Only time will tell.
This is the exact situation Fletcher was put in by Hextall but worse because we didn't have a player like Gauthier in the system.

I did not realize that Tyson Foerster has 5 points in his first 6 games. Looks like he wants to stay.
He looks good and is always looking to put the puck on net which i love. He will be on the big club next season barring injury.

Brendan Lemieux might want to stay too. He has 5 points and a +4 in his first 6 games with us as well. He's a pending UFA, but I wouldn't be surprised if we re-sign him in the offseason at this rate. I don't think he will be expensive and he's a bargain for what he's providing right now.

Jesus, Biz just said on live television that he hopes the Islanders get "bent over four times in a row by the Bruins in the 1st round. No spit, no lube, sandpaper finish."

Idk what to think of this team right now. We were in full-on tank mode for about a month and now for at least the last week it looks like we can play with anyone. Red hot Minnesota comes into Philly tonight and they leave with a deserved L, 5-4. Tough game for Hart, but Foerster ties it late with an elite, Nhl-level shot, and Carter redeems himself in the OT and shootout by stopping everything. JvR scores the lone shootout goal.

I never get tired of seeing MAF lose...Lol

So, we've beaten three teams that still have a lot to play for and took 1st place Carolina to OT all within the last week. That's two teams leading their division and two others still in the playoff race and we're playing with them start to finish.

Clearly some of these youngsters can play. Farabee has a goal in four straight games. Tippett can really skate and often looks dangerous offensively. The dude is second on the team with 21 goals. Noah Cates is literally filling the role of Couturier defensively and performing very well at it too, plus chipping in some offensively. Frost is really coming along with 5 points and a +3 in his last three games. Others like York, Allison, Sedlak and Zamula haven't been able to produce (or play) as much, but they have still been plus players.

Anyway, so much for finishing in the top 5 of the draft lottery. At this rate, we'll be lucky to be drafting in the top 8 or 10.

So starts Spring, the chore list begins. Thinking about putting a tiny house on about an acre lot I have sitting with nothing on it. Says it would take 3 years to break even and begin making a profit. May be worth it in the end, my kids could decide what they want to do with it after I'm gone.

Sure they do, but the will to win alone shouldn't be enough to beat these top teams. I think Torts is doing a fantastic job with them and there are some stars in there, for sure. It's not just a bunch of nobody kids that won't stick around in the Nhl. Look at Foerster. It's taken him only 7 games to really impress at the Nhl level.

Torts has gooten more out of the players than any other coach in a long time.

Seems like the right decision to me. Also an indicator that the flyers are serious about having a little patience and trying to build.

He is a young 19. Probably banging a bunch of co-eds too.

I agree with this 100%. I've watched him play every game in the WJC and one game at BC and he definitely needs some seasoning.
