Lakers just going to give away a game in the midst of a playoffs race? Just wow

It's the front half of a back to back with the Nets and Knicks..

Personally, I'd like to see them maybe sit 1 for the 1st game and the other for the 2nd.

Maybe they're looking to try to make sure they get at least 1 of the 2?

Yes I did.

Not saying it is impossible for that stuff to still be going on?

But I find it very unlikely.

At least the fixing games part.

Btw TD and game 7 2010, I don’t

Most likely but issue is the knicks are solid this year so even with both going doesn't make that a lock. Nets game honestly would have been more of a lock

Yeah, but all players want to play in MSG. You don't typically see them load manage there.

Just a bad opinion IMO.

I am not offended by it. I don’t associate myself as a ref for the limited experience I had doing it. Spent way more time playing and coaching.

And you always see the missed calls when you are sitting on the bench. And of course I would get on officials during games when they missed calls for my team.

But always in a respectful way.

Don’t think it is fair to say something is “easy” when the person saying it has never done it.

nothing positive comes from saying “these refs suck”!
It absolutely does mean they suck. There are always going to be bottom of the barrel NBA refs. They could absolutely suck for their “tier”. You are taking it too literal, that is the issue. NBA players can suck for the caliber that is average for the league and that’s why those few don’t last long. If you are the bottom of the barrel for a NBA caliber ref then you should not last long. Same could be said for college and high school level. What qualifies a ref to be a NBA level. Experience? I’m sure in most cases as in most jobs it’s a big key. As well as well as performance but who is to say they didn’t get this job bc of their connections. So really there were guys better and more qualified but they were passed over. Same as the real world. Some of these refs absolutely can suck at their job, just like any job, and some will continue to be a referee with a low performance. Why? Bc they have connections.

That’s like saying a high executive doesn’t really suck at his job bc of his experience and he is at the “top of the food chain”. Not the case. I’ve been in companies where the CFO had absolutely no clue what he was doing and he had a terrible way of managing. That’s why a strike system could be useful. They already have reports and I’m sure they have stats on refs but why keep the guys that are the worst just bc they have experience or know someone. This is a multi-billionaire business.

Why do you assume they keep the worst officials?

The problem as I see it, is you believe the best are also bad at their jobs. Because you don’t have realistic standards or a frame of reference to judge.

I read this tweet in a sarcastic tone for some reason lol

Me too…lol
Yep...to me it just seemed disingenuous at best...but mostly arrogant because they know it'll continue to be unabated, with a real good chance of it even getting worse. But I hope I'm wrong.

I guess time will tell.
We'll see.

We have a thread created just for bitching at refs now, to keep this one free to talk about literally anything else.
