I will take Nurk.

He’d be awesome for the Clippers.
I heard Chicago was looking to shed Drummond. He’s a guy I would take to back up Embiid.

A lot

There are likely incentives in people contracts on making all star team. A guy like that get in then a deserving player miss out

That's on the player and his agent for tying a bonus to a popularity contest.

Zero sympathy for that.

That’s not how it works.

It’s one of multiple ways.

These guys got the all star nod.

But, missed on the NBA Team.

But, imagine losing 30 mil because some assholes thought it would be funny to vote for Austin Reaves?

In order to be eligible to maximize supermax earnings, a player must have met at least one of the following criteria within their first four NBA seasons: Two All-NBA selections (first, second or third team) Voted in twice as an All-Star starter. Win NBA MVP once.

The point is to put the best players on the court for the fans to be entertained.

That's actually not the point.

It's called a All STAR game. There are players who are stars, but not necessarily the best player at their position.

And?

That's on the players for allowing a popularity contest to determine the contract they are eligible for.

What are you talking about?

That is the NBA rule for criteria for a super max contract.

Some Dude who earned the distinction of being a all star should miss out on 30 million dollars because a troll ass fan base wants to try to vote in canon fodder?

This is these guys livelihoods.

Is it though?

Why would the players push for that clause?

It is in the players’ best interest for anybody able to negotiate to get that supermax money.

That sounds to me like owners pushing for something to protect their interest and limit the number of players eligible for super max deals.

These deals are collectively bargained. That means give and take. Pretty sure that is a give from the players and a take for the owners.

All NBA...Yes

All Star...No
Neither.

Obviously, the NBA disagrees with you.

That’s why they took the entire choice out of the fans hands.

Granted, the players are far, far, worse in choosing…imo

But, having the biggest fan base doesn’t make you more deserving.

And again, it's because the players have allowed it.

Additionally, if the players are that concerned about the monetary aspect of it, then they should either start taking it more seriously or negotiate it out in the next CBA.

Honestly then they should be policing this much better. There is a ton of stuff that the players shouldn’t let go down though.

Again...And?

If it's that important to the players, negotiate it out.

The way they vote and the fact that they haven't negotiated it out, tells me that it's more important to you and a couple of others on here than it is to them.
