For sure. Cavs already know the matchup. I will be pretty freaking shocked if they're not playing the heat or knicks round 1. They are currently 2-4 vs those teams.

The win vs Miami came without Herro and Butler
Cavs just need to keep growing together. Miami is an old team with experience that has mostly been together a long time.

Cavs seem to be on the right track- they just need to stay healthy and get minutes on the court together. They are definitely way more talented than Heat and Knicks----- they just need the experience. Maybe that will come this year- maybe it wont.

They have experience but the experience is falling apart after the All Star break.

or getting injured and losing half the team...one of the two...

especially when you consider how little depth they had at that point after losing Sexton and Rubio for the season earlier on. they were starting a point guard off the street- or at least giving him huge run- for a while there. LeVert got hurt twice and never adapted. Allen was out for an extended period. Mobley missed a lot of games and ran into the rookie wall as well. Garland missed games and in addition, played through a lot of injuries.

at one point last year- the Cavs were on their 5th string PG--- Garland was hurt, Sexton was hurt, Rubio was hurt, they traded for Rondo and he got hurt- so they signed Brandon Goodwin off the street.

He looked really pissed.....and he shrugged off Bron saying he loved him.

There could be some smoke where there is fire.

No telling if it was Russ related though. The Lakers had also been receiving trade inquiries for AD.

If Ainge can somehow make nice with Russ he might have come up an extreme tanking plan. Just tell him you need him to be prime Russ and give him the ball.

That is called the fank

Aka fake tank

Titans beat writer and I came up with it

(our context was playing Malik Willis all next year in hopes of landing Caleb Williams)

because you are an idiot.

Jermaine O Neal made 6 straight All Star teams- and in that stretch basically averaged 20 and 10 on very good Indiana teams that won playoff series.

Nerleans Noel.

If you're going to continue to reference Noel, could you spell Nerlens correctly lol? It's not a phonetic slurring of New Orleans.

of course he did not get much college ruun- he fucked around with Memphis and got caught up in a bunch of bullshit because he is an idiot.

This was the first red flag. Some guys are super athletic but just dont have a head for the very very little bit of structure you have to be able to adapt to in the NBA.

I am not saying this is the case (though who knows)- I was reading an article the other day where the military doese not take anyone with an IQ lesss than 75 (I think that was the number) because they believe that they just cant train you and you will be counter productive.

At some point- some of these great athletes that are NBA players- I am not saying they are stupid- but they just do not have what it takes to translate their talent from a free flowing, i am just better than everyone else- to actually playing NBA basketball.

I think Jalen Green actually has a little bit of this going- but he is so talented that he will be useful- just never hit his full potential. The one guy on the Cavs- Porter Jr.- another great example.

His issue at Memphis was due to Hardaway being a booster at the time of his recruitment. Not the fault of the player.

People are overreacting to the vampire comment about Westbrook. It's pretty clear what the intention from whoever said it if you watched this team the last 2 years.

As one source told me, ‘As one source told me, ‘You remove a vampire from the locker room.’ That meaning a vampire sucks the blood out of the locker room and Russell Westbrook moves on.”

They aren't talking about him intentionally doing this. Westbrook has never outright been a bad person or teammate. But what its referencing is Westbrook's presence, because of his fit and attitude, sucked the energy out of the team. They walked on egg shells around him. The energy was always awkward around him because everyone, coaches, staff, and players were bending to find ways to accommodate him. And Russ, being Russ, gave up little to work the other way. You bend to him, he doesn't bend to you. That kind of presence is draining. It wears on you over time. The players (and I'm sure the coaches) can still like him as a person, but as a working relationship, its tiresome. So whoever that person was compared it to a vampire (an energy vampire if you will, shout out What We Do In The Shadows).

And its apt comparison and its not like its out of the blue either because these kinds of details have been reported and on display for the last 2 years. There were numerous reports about how Vogel had difficulties with Russ, how he wouldn't take any accountability for his play. Vogel largely got fired because he couldn't handle him. Ham got some initial buy in from Russ, but there's been reports about friction with him for the last 2 months with Russ largely falling back into the pattern of never looking inward and accepting responsibility that yes, it might be his own issues that's causing problems. On the court, there's been numerous instances where you see bad body language from the team after Russ does some dumbass shit on the court whether its from Lebron, AD, or whoever. Over time, that wears on you. Again, it sucks the life out of you to the point where it becomes untenable. Then we have a report from The Athletic today just confirming everything we've seen over the last couple of years. This isn't new. This wasn't out of the blue with someone trashing him on the way out.

So the relationship ends and no one is ever suppose to comment on what happened? That's not how this works. This comes with the territory of being a professional. It's not like Westbrook was attacked as an awful person. None of the reports over the last 2 years have ventured anywhere to his conduct being bad as a person or affecting anyone that way. It's always related to the team and team chemistry, which is up for valid criticism. But the family got all offended and bringing up their kids as a shield. How can this media story come out with the word vampire when Russ kids might see it and think he's a literal vampire?!?!? Please. Stop using your kids to deflect. Which isn't the first time this has happened when they got all up in arms last year when the name "Westbrick" would trend on Twitter (not a new name btw) and acted like it was an afront to the honor of the family name and that his kids were distraught. This is what Russell Westbrook (and his family be it his wife or his brother) does. Any time there is heat on him for his own play, there's no responsibility taken. It's always everyone else who is out of line

Here’s me on that comment. If you’re going to be that scathing in blowing someone up don’t be a pussy and be an “anonymous source”. Put your name on that shit or shut the fuck up.
