They are done. Nobody wants to fuck with that franchise and in the end, it will be their own fault. Going after KD is one thing but going after Kyrie is another issue. It sucks bc if Kyrie acted a big more normal this likely all works out but like I said, putting trust in Kyrie is a desperate move

Especially Kyrie made a whole deal out this being a coming home thing and how he always wanted to play for the nets

He hasn’t acted like it basically since covid was a thing

Sad kd was a wrong shoe size from dragging them to a title…

I don’t feel bad for Joe at all.

Just like I don’t feel bad for Kyrie.

Saying he should cave to a crazy, racist little shit because he’s a crazy little shit kinda sets a bad precedent.

He can contend with Kyrie and Kevin for the rest of the year and Kyrie can play ball in a sign and trade to get paid or he can cut off his nose to spite his face and take a pay cut.

I mean, do you see the Spurs or Rockets cutting him a max check this Summer?

The rockets owe their pick to the thunder (top 4 protected) and seem intent on not tanking cause they’re dumb as hell…

…so maybe lol

He will and the nets wont be heard of for another 10-20 yrs
Garnett, Pierce trade was one of the worst in NBA history.

Took a minute.

But, they recovered.

You can’t negotiate with a lunatic Kyrie, and a guy with blind loyalty like Durant.

They are like terrorist.

Everytime you say no, you will get a trade demand.

….which is why they can’t tank.

You can’t have given up Russell, Allen, Dinwiddie, Levert, Harden, all your picks for these two dingle berries to only have Ben goddamn Simmons to show for it.

But, you also can’t live in constant fear of what that Moron Kyrie will do next.

Durant might be unhappy.

But, he’s under contract.

Do you see him sitting out?

Spurs or Rockets?

No.

There are teams who could create the cap space to do it though.

And more importantly, as I have said all along, still more who would gamble on him if under contract because he is good enough.

I just think the Nets have come this far, kind of silly to blow it up now. They have yet to have all their pieces healthy for a playoff run. And they have the talent in the building today to win a title.

So then the answer is just not to sign him in the first place.

And I am sure many teams would take that stance.

Others like Dallas and LA who need that star power though? They would take the risk in a heartbeat.

He said this on January 25….lol

Well, I think a lot of the things that have happened throughout the season are in the rearview,” Irving said after leading the Nets’ come-from-behind victory at defending champion Golden State on Sunday.

“I haven’t forgot about them but it’s something that I don’t prioritize as much because the team is most important here and am trying to prepare the best way I know how mentally, physically and emotionally. So I feel like we’re past that as an organization and a team me individually stronger mentally.”

Do you have a time machine where they can go back and undo that?

So, no.

All they can do is move forward and not compound the situation by having history repeat itself.

Which teams in need of a pg, or just one that can create space do you see giving him a 4 year deal?

As for the Nets, you do know what the definition of insanity is, right?

Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

This is like a gambling junkie saying “ Well, I already lost my life savings. Might as well keep going and bet my kids college fund”.

Right.

Where we disagree is on how to do that.

Sign him today, trade him this summer if you don’t win a ring and want him gone.

This is not an unmovable contract. There are quite a few teams out there that are kind of stuck in purgatory unless they gamble on a player like Kyrie.

Dallas needs to get it done

And figure the rest out

The nets would still have a few picks to make an add with those guys.

Yeah, no doubt.

I said the same, what’s it hurt to ask?

But, to expect to get value in a Westbrook deal and not give up both picks is kinda the reason your record is what it is right now.

Had they not been a victim of their own hubris, you would have Turner and Buddy and be at, or near, top of the West….even with Davis out.

Agree.
