What is the issue with demanding a trade though? I actually respect players who do this in a contract you. They are informing you ahead of time im not signing back so instead of losing me for nothing in July, you can trade me now and get something.

This is a guy who has been a fucking head case that played nice in the sandbox for 2 months and expected that to be enough to get him a long term max contract.

When the team declined, he pulled a regular and threw another hissy fit, ultimately proving them right.

If you traded Westbrook, he would be a near perfect placeholder salary.

I don't think that Kyrie will accept a 2 year deal. He's looking for that last big pay day. And when he gets, nothing will stop his flakiness.

From what I read, one of the reasons Kyrie rejected the Nets offer is because it had a lot of behavior clauses in it, to prevent him from flaking.

Maybe Lebron can keep him in check but I think that ship sailed years ago.

Kyrie is obviously the bigger talent.

Unfortunately, he’s also the bigger salary and bigger risk.

I think Kyrie would accept being Robin to Lebron’s Batman.

But, I am not sure he would play Alfred to AD.

Kyrie understands respects that Durant is the better talent.

Dunno if he would understand the same when it comes to AD.

That’s the crux of the issue.

Buying Westbrook out won’t give them significant cap space.

There is no benefit to that except to remove him from the roster.

Losing Kyrie for nothing and trying to win this year is the better option if they dont trade Durant.

Well, outside of actually trading him for useful pieces.

If what you say about the Lakers possibly not being willing to commit long term is true, Kyrie is in trouble.

If you could get a 3rd team to take Kyrie and send the Nets back something that keeps them contenders, Im sure they would happily ship his ass to you.

But, they would have to come off those picks.

It is just maddening that Rob has another chance at this and he is still haggling over picks.

Lakers are top of the West with Kyrie and a borderline playin team without him.

From what I've read, it doesn't seem to be the picks that are the issue. It seems to be that he doesn't want to commit to Kyrie much past the time he has Lebron under contract for.

Also, Kyrie only makes them contenders if Lebron's Jedi mind tricks still work on him. If they don't, they're back to where they are now...a borderline play in team with an untradeable star...only this time, minus the 1st round draft picks to offer someone to hopefully bail them out.

I will tell you one thing…

Switch him for Lowry and you have as good a chance as anyone to win it all as long as Kyrie isn’t in one of his manic episodes.

But, Riley and Haslem would want to fucking behead this guy after a full season.
