That’s your staff then. In the NBA a lot of defensive success comes from scheme, rotations, value system/priorities, etc…

It’s not the staff.

Its the fact that they are no longer the defenders people praise them to be.

Zu and Covington are our best defenders.

Paul and Kawhi , Morris are no longer the guys they were.

They can make a good defensive play a few times a game.

But, they aren’t locking anyone down.

I’ll defer to you because you see them more than I do but it seemed like all night they were giving Embiid the jumper from the elbow. That’s what he wants to get. He shoots that with great reliability and it didn’t matter what scheme they played, that was the shot they were giving him. Seemed odd to me like they hadn’t scouted the Sixers at all.

I mean, there is a grain of truth to what you are saying.

Look at all the SportsHoopla, pun intended, over movies like Black Panther, Wonder Woman.

Everyone loves to see representation of themselves.

But, the people who go around screaming that the success of those movies is simply the result of the woke mob, ignore the fact that both movies were actually FUCKING AWESOME.

Both things can be true at the same time.

As for the white guys who happened to win the award, don’t you think some of that is due to timing?

Jordan and Lebron could have damn near won it every year they were in the League.

But, the era with MJ, Magic, Bird etc was dense with greatness.

I thought Embiid edged Jokic the last 2 years.

He won because people were mesmerized by something they had never seen before and they enjoyed seeing someone off their physical stature doing something otherworldly.
