I'd vote against him this year for that reason
I get it, but wasn't Bird thought of how he is because of his ability to shoot, rebound and pass....as well as smarts and making those around him better (of course, he had 2 HOFers around him, too)?

Now it is fair to mention when Bird played the 3 was not so prevalent (too bad we never got to see him when it was).

Not on their level yet but why couldn't he get there? He's kind of good.
Dude gets 3 MVPs in a row without ever winning a championship? Shit, never getting to the Finals. Bird, Russell, Wilt. That’s the list of guys who have won 3 in a row. A third MVP for Joker would be 3 times as many MVPs as what Shaq won. 3 times as many MVPs as the Dream. 3 times as many MVPs as Kobe. This stuff doesn’t compute for me.

Is he turning the corner or a fluke? LOL

Saw this and pretty much coincides when he was moved back into the starting lineup.

Maybe he has figured it out? What I like more than shooting better is he seems much more willing to take the ball to the hoop and cut to the hoop.

When Bird wins his third MVP he already had 2 rings under his belt.

I wonder if Bird gets those titles with one borderline all star as his top teammate(s) as opposed to 2 HOFers. Would he even get to the playoffs if that borderline all star and the next best player missed most of the season?

I don't want to knock Bird as one of my favs but come on.

he did....with at least 2 HOFers on his team as well as other all stars. Jokic's teams seem to over achieve don't they? Your guy/team under achieves more often, no?

I just think we see this stuff differently. I don’t need to play shoulda coulda woulda with that stuff. That’s how you over inflate the Little Engine That Could and go Gaga over a guy who turns his squad into a 6 seed and home after 5 games in the first round.

The reality is that Larry Bird was a champion. Jokic is a Western Conference runner up as teams shit away leads in series in the weirdest close to a season any of us have witnessed in our lives.

Did they underachieve last year when Embiid held them above water and the top 4 in the East while Ben Simmons sits out before getting traded at the deadline? Did they underachieve when they were the number 1 seed? Maybe you can argue they did when they lost to the Hawks. But Embiid averaged 30 and 13 in that series playing on an MCL injury.

Screamin A has a podcast? Good lord that fucking guy is oversaturating the market.
He is actually fine to listen to when he's not in character on espn. I only listened because i like hearing Draymond speak but heard him on JJ Redick pod and you get a completely different vibe compared to what we see on espn
