I get the not handling criticism well aspect of it but you dont know from 34 wins to 56 wins 2 years later without making your teammates better
He could have used that as ammunition instead of telling a top 50 all time player that was doing his job to blow him.I get the not handling criticism well aspect of it but you dont know from 34 wins to 56 wins 2 years later without making your teammates better
How would that work? Who would Indiana want and how do the salaries match up? Note they won't trade any of their vets including Looney. We have been over this.
You can’t trade them for a max player.
You can trade them for Myles Turner.
The idea is he is emerging and becoming a useful player, something that was in doubt. It's still unfolding. Takes time for defense to get right as the Warriors are showing. Not that the Nets are a lock to figure it out but way too soon to declare Simmons trash. Is he? They’re giving up 130 points a game. He’s supposed to be the difference in their defense. They’re dog shit defensively and they’re continuing to lose games because of it.
But you can call a parade for Ben because instead of being 50% of what he should be he’s had a run of 5-6 games where he’s 65% of what he should be.

That ship has sailed but he can be a top 30 player.Credit for what? He hasn’t added anything. I guess this is Manage Expectations time. Dude is a unicorn that is wasting talent and ability. He should be a top ten player by now with what God gave him.
Gotta give up all 3 young guys though? And is that the best Indiana can do? I did post a week ago they probably can't pull off the double goal thing (win another ring and also develop rookies) so maybe they do go this way.Turner is only making 18 million.
I think the salaries already match, but if not, adding one random small salary would get them there.
Ja already got his team further than russ ever did when he was the "man"
Knicks are great at somethin…Grant took the same amount of FTa as the entire Knicks team!

"When the facts change, I change my opinion. What do you do, sir?" - J.M. KeynesLOL.
2 months ago you would have thought GS was getting robbed.
Just 2 is enough salary? And couldn't Indiana do better for Turner? And I said 2 specific young guys.
It wasn't clear until recently. They tried to do both.GS should have traded them as soon as it became clear Kerr was never going to invest the minutes in them to allow development.

I can certainly see it going this way now. But there's no question that the team collectively had the idea of a 'two track' plan, contend and develop. I'm sure even Kerr was initially on board. Then it became clear that was probably not going to work.I don’t know.
I think so, but it is close.
Close enough that the 3rd player can be whoever GS wants it to be.
And yeah, it has always been clear that Kerr doesn’t trust young players.
Wiseman couldn’t even get big minutes his rookie season on a team that wasn’t going anywhere. Kuminga was completely out of the playoff rotation.
Best case was a bit role this season.
And it is highly unlikely those two will ever be good enough to pass up a possible opportunity to extend their contention window. They are not special.
Your team doesn't go 20-5 without you if you do.
Think of how much better they'd be getting pieces for Ja!Yeah they should trade him. Clearly useless
